I don’t think it hurts but I doubt his commitment is that big of a factor. Having a local kid that dreamed of playing QB at NU has paid dividends. He seems like a kid that others gravitate to.
I believe during the big weekend visit in June , I think Ian Flynt said he was the one assigned to Brix to get him N.
I've always consider Baker a long shot at best. I think NIL will decide for him. But I also think that the idea of playing with above average fellow recruits for what appears to be an above average staff in what could be storybook resurgence would be appealing. I know, a lot of qualifiers in there.
Having a fellow Hawaiian as his primary recruiter surely helped re Taumua but of course that’s not a factor with Brix
Definitely doesn’t hurt. Kids that are competitive and want to win want to play on teams that are competitive and want to win. Show young Mr. Brix what they’re building at Nebraska and he can be a piece of “The Awakening.”
