High powered offense under baby KKK Ferentz!!Wonder why Iowa is on the list? Other than McNamara what’s different for them?
Maybe the meant the biggest jump backwards for IowaWonder why Iowa is on the list? Other than McNamara what’s different for them?
Hard to say, their OL was about as bad as ours.I hate Iowa but they would have been really really tough with McNamara last year.
Coming off their regular season record of 7-5 last fall they should be able to win 9 games this upcoming season with their very soft schedule. They have Michigan and Ohio State right where they want them. Off the schedule!Wonder why Iowa is on the list? Other than McNamara what’s different for them?
THEY COMIN!Sports journalism is a joke. This list is as useful as a defibrillator in a morgue. Just pulling crap out of his ***. Iowa? Seriously? CU? It is all hype and no substance. Even Nebraska is a stretch.
Hate to say it but Iowa did really well in the portal this year. Agree with all this, QB McNamara, TE All, and especially the LB Jackson were all great gets.Seems like their defense will be good again. They got Mcnamara or however you spell it, a TE from Michigan named All, some
Receiver and a good LB from Virginia it looks like. Probably a normal Iowa team depending on schedule

If only they got some better coaches out of the portalHate to say it but Iowa did really well in the portal this year. Agree with all this, QB McNamara, TE All, and especially the LB Jackson were all great gets.
Think they’ll have another solid Iowa type year again and compete for the West. Don’t think they win it, but they’ll have a solid squad.
Mostly teams down from expectations and with some newish life....Sports journalism is a joke. This list is as useful as a defibrillator in a morgue. Just pulling crap out of his ***. Iowa? Seriously? CU? It is all hype and no substance. Even Nebraska is a stretch.
So, what does your list look like? I can't really argue with any of his choices. I'd have gone with Nebraska as the stand-alone for the B1G, but other than that, list seems pretty spot on to me.Sports journalism is a joke. This list is as useful as a defibrillator in a morgue. My point is that teams like CU and NU have been so awful for so long I do not put any stock in predictions of our immediate turnaround based on new coaches and transfer portal guys. This is the same hype we saw around Frost almost every year as well. "This is the year Frost really puts it together and Nebraska is a team on the rise this year..." Blah, blah, blah. And Sanders is all bling and hype so far. Sure he has brought in a ton of players. But they are unproven and need time to mesh into a real team. Ditto for NU. As for Iowa... they are always good for a "solid" 8-4 or 9-3 season. It takes little predictive power to say they are going to do that again this year. So, what does your list look like? Ah, so you have more of a problem with creating such a list, not necessarily what's on it? Makes sense. I don't really blame sports reporters for putting stuff like that out there. Of course it's just one person's opinion, but generating content for a sport in the offseason when that's your job and there's really nothing to report is no easy task.My point is that teams like CU and NU have been so awful for so long I do not put any stock in predictions of our immediate turnaround based on new coaches and transfer portal guys. Still they had hard time running the ball, their line isn’t as good as some of their fans think they are.I hate Iowa but they would have been really really tough with McNamara last year.
Reminds me of Penn State back in the day when Paterno had his stupid as crap son, Jay Paterno, as his QB coach. It was a disaster and every diehard PSU fan I knew out here hated Jay Paterno. In fact, even though they will not say it now, most PSU fans wanted Joe Paterno to retire long before the Sandusky **** hit the fan. They knew his time had passed and they wanted to make the next step into modern college football. And my gut says most Iowa fans feel the same right now about Ferentz and his son. As a Husker fan I hope Ferentz stays there until he is 90.Still they had hard time running the ball, their line isn’t as good as some of their fans think they are.
How much the added additions help remains to be seen, they finally picked up a quality wide receiver supposedly from Ohio St.
Still going to come down to McNamara making better plays than the past QB with lame duck sonny boy Ferentz calling plays and he is no QB guru coach..
true - was just commenting on last years teamStill they had hard time running the ball, their line isn’t as good as some of their fans think they are.

I was kind of expecting impact with snow, 17 cartwheels, and yard sale of equipment. We be like…

based on what? getting beat out by a true frosh as a senior returning starter?I hate Iowa but they would have been really really tough with McNamara last year.
They would have won 2 more games last year - they would have beaten Iowa state (a 10-7 loss) and Illinois (a 9-6 loss)based on what? getting beat out by a true frosh as a senior returning starter?
never topping 8 yards/attempt?
again - based on what?but the delta between he and Petras is pretty large
I think he is better than Petras - hard to extrapolate numbers when he (McNamara) is playing behind Michigan’s line.again - based on what?
I am asking you to support your claim with something - anything - other than your feelingsI think he is better than Petras - hard to extrapolate numbers when he (McNamara) is playing behind Michigan’s line.
Are you saying Jim Harbaugh won the big ten - and played in the CFP with a Spencer Petras equivalent at QB?
We’ll see how he looks at Iowa
in his full year of play:I am asking you to support your claim with something - anything - other than your feelings
I will take your attempt to turn this on me as a conditional surrender
