I don't know how good he is or isn't but it's certainly a position that can use another player. And he has 4 years if he's good.

Any chance he moves to D-line? That's what he grew up playing, I thought I read somewhere that Rhule/Raiola wanted to move away from super tall O-linemen with long arms.

He’s 6’7” max versus Teddy’s 6’9”. No way you turn away a talented OT prospect because you think he’s an inch or two too tall.

The recruiting stars mean the least IMO for an OL incoming player. For the OL so much of the on the field performance is about off the field development. The key to recruiting the right OL is being able to correctly assess the development potential. That all said, I don't know anything about this new recruit. Hope the coaches did their assessment correctly.

2 Q’s:

1. Why is he leaving Utah as a Frosh?
2. Foot speed? Can this big boy move?

This situation is where I think it would be tough to evaluate portal players. Only there 1 year but then coaches would have to wonder why he's leaving so fast.

I don't know but his statement seemed to focus on the positive culture at Nebraska. That sounds to me like he didn't care for his position coach but that's just pure speculation on my part.

#1 is always a solid question in the portal era, and part of coaches’ salary is to vet these guys’ past to determine what their potential future could bring.
-His exit statement referenced “after spring practice, he came to understand it was in his best interest.” = to me, 3rd string type talent not panning out.
#2 EXACTLY!!! We’ve had way too many cement shoes, and it’s resulted in brutal outcomes.

He is #75 in red for those that wish to breakdown his spring game performance

Wow. He was by far the best lineman on the Red team. Really really superior hand strength. When we locked onto a defender they were done. I would like him to sit a little more. Has a little too much forward lean on his pass pro but it only hurt him
Once. I think his superior hands and leverage have him confident that he can just locked onto a defender instead of punching and settling.

This kid could potentially start for us at RT this season based on what I saw. Very very solid pickup.

This was my question as well, why is it in his best interest to transfer... I watched the video and the only thing I noticed was that he didn't finish the blocks, or that was what stood out to me. He did not give up any sacks but a couple of times his defender made plays 10-15 yds past the LOS after he disengaged.

It could be he thought he should be further up the depth chart, but as a RFr that is not an easy move... I guess time will tell.

For those of you who are interested, I assume the pronunciation of his last name is Kuh-Knock (hard K sound), or at least it should be. Not like the 80s band called The Knack.

It’s still only speculation, because it could always be related to other reasons like “after spring I realized I don’t get along well with these coaches or teammates, or want to play in a different offense, or may have better NIL opportunity, etc etc.”

I would still guess it’s about depth chart and perceived development.

I'm glad we got the kid, looks fairly promising. But I'm already tired of kids "Committing" 2-3X to a college and posting it on social media.

Like it feels like the very first time!
It's a F'ing transfer!

Ok rant over.

LOL, it reminds me of a bride who insists on wearing a white bridal gown for her third wedding after two prior divorces.
