Never know. Maybe it will be included in the 500 million dollar face lift for the 100 year old girl.

Every stadium should go to natural grass. NFL is on the verge of doing it. So much better.

I would love it iF Memorial Stadium went all grass. I was on the Penn State field once and that grass surface was amazing. I remember thinking that players really must prefer it to turf.
Plus, if Nebraska had been playing on natural grass, and was used to it, then the 1994 Nebraska Cornhuskers would have beaten the Miami Hurricanes. Because the grass slows down the option offense. Too bad that was a good team.

The indoor practice will be turf , just doing this to prepare for both during the season.

Imo, easier to go from grass to turf than vice-versa. Tend to agree injury less with grass than turf and easier on body. Will it hold up to November and December playoff game and state playoffs high school?. Might have to move

Check out Madrids new soccer stadium. Dome with natural grass. Arizona and Vegas are natural I think. It can be done. Would love to see Indy do it. Purdue is natural grass.
Most domes that have natural grass are either retractable or in one case I read about has a huge system to roll the surface outside. One huge problem is moisture.

NUs problem with the practice fields is going to be trying to keep them in shape especially during spring football.

Zona and LV roll the fields into the parking lot. Madrid is building an underground growth system. With new technology, I'd argue watering is more easy to control. It is going to take a massive upgrade for a lot of places though.

Super Bowl in Arizona this past February teams complained about slippery surface despite natural grass field..

That’s what the $71M+ per year is for

I think PSU was where the grass field was developed that is used today. Iowa State has a natural field that was developed by PSU. A few years ago in November it looked like a feed lot.

When it ever starts raining again. I'm sure it will have a very coarse soil structure underneath and possibly a tile system to drain excess water. Imo
