Ouch. We’re very thin for big bodies to play against things like Minnesota jumbo packages. I worry about us holding the line of scrimmage.
Depth is important.

So what does our current depth chart look like on the DL:

NT: Nash, Bunkley
DE: Robinson, Gunnerson
DE: Judy, Lenhardt

Do we have anyone else to provide depth here?

Jacob Herbek was getting talk.
Brodie Tagaloa/AJ Rollins
Incoming guys- Vincent Carroll-Jackson, Riley Van Poppel, Sua Lufotu, and Jason Maciejczak.

Problem is for guys on campus, 1/2 are undersized. Playing true frosh on DL is never ideal.
Jeudy is listed as 300lb but I thought he looked a lot smaller than that.

It’s certainly a position group to watch.

Meh, just means more time for the younger guys. For as big as he is, he never really played like it.

I'm sure for being his last year he doesn't want to be a backup. We now need a big body from the portal.

****! That is about the last thing we needed.
Somebody needs to write him a big check. I honestly think he was one of our most talented guys on the D line. He was out of shape last year. Definitely looked quicker this spring. He’s leaving a huge hole in the 2 deep.

Dline was already thin. And he was a big body who was going to get quality snaps. I agree, it hurts. He didn't play at Bama but he was a physically mature, veteran player. Hard to replace that on the interior.

This defense values guys who can move. How many big guys are going to be in the rotation? Nash, Ty, Jeudy are locks. Sans Wynn, I'd add Buckley (could he still portal?) and Tagola. Maciejczak would seem a logical choice to back up Hutmacher in the middle and I do not think this staff is reticent to play young guys. I think we are going to see Princewill and Lenhardt playing a bit this season.

I thought he played some at Bama. He was an underclassman with multiple early draft picks in front of him on the depth chart. Still a darned good player.

This one is bizarre. I would love to know what his plan is. Transfer to a mid tier DI program that has NO ONE at the nose so you never leave the field?? Kids like this are so confusing to me...You couldn't get on the field at your first school, you transfer, you couldn't beat out a walk-on on the depth chart last year and now your slated to finally get starter level reps...and now you want to transfer again?! It's like what exactly are you looking for bud?

agree it makes little sense from the outside looking in

but we never know what's going on behind closed doors or in players' personal lives

'tis what it is

This one smells to me like a deal where somebody dangled a NIL check. Even if he didn’t start, he was going to get starter number of game reps. Maybe he didn’t like his role in the 3-3-5?
