I’ve been saying it since last year ended. The 2 road games to start was awful planning. We WILL start 0-2 hope we end up 7-5.

Agreed - not as easy Iowa’s but definitely the best opportunity to get some W’s. Will be disappointed if lose to CO! I will be happy with a bowl and 7 wins.
Nobody cares about Iowa...Michigan is the only good team we play. Anything more than 2 loses is a failure.

Why the F does anyone think we will lose to Colorado?? They have an unproven coach who is bringing in talent that is there for all the wrong reasons. Positive the Prime experiment is going to be a volcano of dog shite for them. We have a new team, built from good talent and good portal acquisitions. We have a proven coach who is building this from the ground up. We may lose to minnesota but I will be surprised if we dont pound the living snot out of the Buffs.

I would hope our fan base is level headed enough to give Rhule time regardless of record this year. I have my doubts however.

agreed. if Rhule is starting from ground zero, Prime is starting from the Earth's core.

we'll be heavy favorites going into that game. there's a reason they have a <2% chance of making a bowl game this year.

Agreed, and Nebraska helped itself in the portal too just not as many players especially coming over from FCS Jackson St.

After the meltdowns in Boulder in 2019 and 2001, I feel like no game there is a guaranteed win.

Weren't we suppose to win a minimum of 8 games last year because the schedule was so easy?
Nothing has changed, so I wouldn't anticipate a different result.

Garbage O-line: check
No defense: check
Unproven and beat up QB's with zero protection: check
Serviceable WR group but now missing Palmer: check
Decent RB's but trying to run behind garbage o-line: check
Unproven and beat up TE's: check
God only knows special teams: check

8 wins here we come!!!!

You mean the 2019 game against a CU coach coaching his 2nd career game as a head coach where we blew a 17-0 halftime lead and lost to a team that finished next to last in the P12? I was in the stands - it was miserable. I hope like hell we beat CU, and am optimistic that Rhule>CP, but am not going to question why some might have doubts on whether we win.

For Colorado, the best thing they have going for them is OC Sean Lewis. In 2020 and 2021, he had Kent State rolling down the field and into the endzone. Not so much in 2022, but he will get the Buffs rolling on offense in the next couple years.

This is the easiest schedule of the past 20 seasons at least...
I'm reminded of the 1962 schedule, Devaney's first year.
  • South Dakota (1-9)
  • Michigan (2-7)
  • Iowa State (5-5)
  • N.C. State (3-6-1)
  • K-State (0-10)
  • Colorado (2-8)
  • Missouri (8-1-2) Loss
  • Kansas (6-3-1)
  • Oklahoma State (4-6)
  • Oklahoma (8-3) Loss
  • Miami (7-4)
Things lined up well for the Huskers to get off to a good start, and they did.

Starting 0-2 would certainly take the bloom off the rose. I'm drinking the 2-0 Kool aid and looking forward to all the positive national press that would follow that start. 😎

How do we lose to CU? They were worse than us and I don’t think one partial recruiting and transfer class under Dieon is going to make them world beaters overnight. And I’m still not bought into Prime Time. He did well at Jackson. But this is P5 football. As we well know it’s a big jump, and success at one level is no guarantee of success at another level. While our guy struggled in the NFL he has had success at the P5 level. No way I put CU ahead of us. As much as Frost sucked coaching and developing talent he at least brought some in. On paper I say were more talented than CU. Then it comes down to development in spring and summer and coach game planning. Again I think advantage NU. I don’t know about a TD favorite, but I expect us to be the Vegas favorite before that game.

I’ll add. This NU team has been a short and curly away from 8-10 win seasons. How many one score games did we lose under Frost??? We are literally a competent coach away from 6-8 wins. I won’t say I’m cautiously optimistic about Rhule, but skeptically optimistic because we’ve been burned for 20 years. But if he walks the walk the way he talks the talk then this team has the talent to be an 8-9 win team and compete for the West.

Good coaches improve teams year 1 which is reflected in their win loss record.

Average coaches need time.

If Rhule loses to this Kardashian of CFB trash, then he's done. We're going to hammer this dumbfùck and his squad of FCS level goons. Deion is bringing the deep south to one of the whitest, cali bro, patchouli smelling hippie towns in America. Hilarious.

I doubt Lewis stays there more than one year. He will want to get out of that circus as fast as he can IMO.

Harry, You are probably right that Lewis leaves for something bigger. Still, he had Top 5 offenses in 2020 and 2021. Hard to do at Kent State. PrIme is not going to leave his precious son, the #1 pick in the NFL draft next year, in the hands of a novice.
