see what happened with Arch Manning and realize, “shoot bruh, I better go to Nebraska so I don’t end up as a 3rd string QB somewhere else” ?

At what point did do these kids think about the actual game and playing, instead of worrying only about NIL? I know that’s probably a dumb question in this world we live in.

Would you prefer an OT thread about dungeons and dragons? Maybe we can talk about Prime? Hell maybe we can talk Creighton instead

Might as well. F-it.
BTW, I think they think about playing. And looking good. While making money. So, the motivation is the better you do, the better you look, the more money you make.
Of course, you want to be at a place that will afford you that opportunity.
Hope to see some real progress this year. Would help get him here.

That’s fair. Agree on hoping for progress

He's not coming to Nebraska. Time to move on.
He may not be coming to Nebraska. But with a talent like this, it’s not time to move on until he actually signs elsewhere. We’ve got 7 months or so to convince him. Why throw the towel in now? I don’t get it.

I agree. Speaking toward the fans I suppose.

They better think about the money first. This is life changing money for some of these guys.

Is it that hard to put yourself in their shoes? Being 17 and 30 different lame *** old dudes offering you crazy cash to play sports?!?!

I mean, hot girls have gone through this for years...

Sure they think about playing. That's why most transfers enter the portal - which prompts a whole new round of pearl-clutching about the world we line in.

Every fan is different. Some fans will hold out hope for getting Raiola until he finally joins the NFL. Others have moved on already. Each to his or her own. IMO you don't give up BUT you also don't put "all your eggs in one basket".

Would be nice to get the kid. Won’t lose 1 min of sleep if we don’t.

More concerned as a fan that this new coach delivers

Even if NU lands this kid, I would not want him starting next year. I want him on the bench with a redshirt learning how to be a QB in a Power 5 conference. His second year some playing time to get a feel for the game then his 3rd year contend for a starting role. I have watched many talented QB's go down the ******* because they have not developed mentally before getting the starting position. 90% of the game is mental, athleticism can make up for some deficiencies, but can not make up the distance between the ears.

In high school, you can outrun the competition and look like the next Hypesman trophy winner, but in Power 5 you are just another number hoping to be a star. The talent is equal across the board and the only thing that separates the men from the boys is what is between the ears. IMHO there are zero QB's ready to come into a Power 5 team and start as freshman and be effective, too much on the plate to digest.

You can’t be serious with that last sentence about The QB , Bryce Young, Spencer Rattler . Caleb Williams all say hi. Hell even AM was effective as a true frosh.

Going back a little further … Johnny Manziel, Robert Griffin, our own TD Tommie. Nearly every QB from Ohio State, Trevor Lawrence … I’m Sure the recruiting pitch to Dylan is - red shirt and maybe we have a spot for you to start when you’re a Junior. Get real - 5 stars start unless there is legitimate NFL talent in from them … and they can make a huge difference right away and be game changers.

Then dont recruit him.

These athleyes aren't sitting the bench nowhere. He'd be in the portal before the season was over.

New era of sports.

Manning will be in the portal next year. Should start recruiting him in case DR doesn’t pan out.

If he doesn’t go to Nebraska, DR will be in the portal in 2 years. That would be a nice combination of quarterbacks to get out of the portal in back to back years.
