We didn’t want him anyway. Too much drama. They paid more. They cheated.

Anything I missed?

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Raiola commiting to Georgia at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

He recruited a lot of high profile recruits to give Nebraska a hard look …. Hopefully some stick and don’t bolt when he commits to UGA when the message is “Nebraksa for thee but not for me”

He will never start there, they will recruit over him.

I think that is all?

Maybe "He is afraid of a challenge"
Actually, this isn't as far fetched as it seems, If you look at the QBs that Georgia, Alabama and OSU, many have transferred out or wasted away waiting their turn.

We just need someone to put their head down and go to work. This drama bs can pound sand. #1 bust.

Would be disappointing to say the least
Him picking NU would have really put the cherry on top of the last 5 months.

Rhule has pretty much made every right move so far and I am not sure if his approval rating among fans could be much higher.

I never expected him to come here so this news does not upset me. This is a smart choice for the kid, if it is true. Georgia is the premier program in college football right now and we are one of the lowest programs in terms of wins and losses over the past 7 or 8 years. Other than having family here and his dad playing here what reason could he possibly have for choosing us over Georgia? Our new facilities? Georgia also has great facilities. SEC. Warm weather. NIL money. They have it all. We need to start winning again and making a name for our program again before we can have any hope of landing the #1 recruit in the nation, family ties or no family ties.

I believe the staff has moved on and is looking at other prospects at this time in the recruiting process..

And while we are at it, let’s remove his dads security clearance and take the jersey off the wall Trev

The number of absolute statements around here on this subject is nauseating (he isn't coming here etc.) because I am guessing the number of Raiola family confidants hovers around zero.

They were only recruiting him so his uncle would stay on as OL coach anyway ;)

Would be unbelievably cool for Nebraska to land this kid, but I'm not gonna let it bother me if it doesn't happen. I just appreciate the fact that Rhule went after him and repaired the bad vibes from Frost shitting all over his recruitment.

Can't blame the kid if he chooses either UGA or USC. Our job is to move on and make him regret his decision.

as soon as he commits elsewhere, the OL coach's termination clock starts
No. It would take a complete failure of our O line for Donovan to get fired. Rhule is deeply involved with coaching our O line and the players love Donnie.

It was fun to get all these visits from high profile high school recruits, but it looks like we might end up missing on all of them.

That's the problem when you've had 6 losing seasons in a row. This staff is going to have to prove themselves on the field first.

The only drama with this is in your head, aided by the media and coach tweets. This is about as normal as a #1 overall recruitment gets so far. The kid doesn’t even say anything. You just need to be patient.

we'll see.

I have my opinion, you have yours.

my prediction is & has been that we will have a new OL coach in 2024 if the QB goes elsewhere.

Rhule's deep involvement is a catalyst ("Donnie" isn't even doing anything, is the odd man out on the staff, was forced to take a pittance to stay on, etc.).

You forget that there’s another Raiola QB that we’ve offered ….he’s going to be highly rated too.

not even close to big brother

5'11", 1 single pandering D1 offer

I stand by my opinion & will of course admit I was wrong (as always) if that should come to pass (unlikely)

We've got to start winning to bring these type of recruits here. Heck, I'm not sure we ever really did. I know Osborne was before all the star ratings, etc., and he got his fair share of high profile recruits, but even then I don't think we would have been at the top of the recruiting rankings.
We have to be a developmental program. We will get the occasional 5 star, but we aren't going to get a half dozen of them every year like the UGAs and Bamas of the world.

Rhule knows what he's doing. He sending DR to the farm system for a year. He will be called back up to the big leagues in a year or two

I remember when some believed that Bubba Starling was going to forego millions in baseball to play for Pelini
We have to have had more QB busts, decommitments, and what ifs than anyone in the country.

Doesn’t matter where he commits, it’s not a done deal until he signs. He could flip on signing day like so many other recruits do. If he goes to UGA he’ll hit the portal. Huskers manage an 8-4 or 9-3 season this year and heads will turn, interest will get higher.

Better listen to this guy. Probably the most informed poster in board history
