Kriisa is a streaky player who can be absolutely great one game and completely disappear the next. Would be a good get for the program, though. While I have mixed feelings about him as a player, Huskers can't turn down a chance to add a multi-year starter from Arizona.

Zona should have benched him after his shoulder thing, but we're in zero position to turn him down. I can't imagine he can't find better offers though.

The question is can we offer enough cash to lure a guy from the Carolinas to the balmy Midwest? ☹️
Yeah NIL really pulled the rug out from under poor Fred. He had the program on such a positive trajectory until that problem came along.

I didn’t say that. What I’m saying is that now that it’s legal we need to exceed the pay scale other schools have been paying. IMO that’s the only way we’ll win given multiple factors. Gotta ante up.

I'd be willing to bet a sizable amount that we already out-spend half the Final Four teams

our coach is a polo-wearing mop handle who hasn't piloted a winning team in damn near 10 years

Call the suicide hotline.
I hope for your sake we are able to compete in your dwindling lifetime

despite your bleeding heart calls to keep this colossal loser of a basketball coach

the sand through the hourglass isn't slowing whether we spend an extra $7M or not

I haven’t called to keep Fred. It’s not my or your call to make. You can keep bitching if you like. You’re good at it.

my mental health doesn’t depend on who our basketball coach is. I enjoyed the team this year.

hilarious!

all I do is post the truth here. all you do is push back against it.
Backpedaling at it's finest. Dingle says one thing them how ever many lost later changes his tune. Must have learned that from some cousins friends family member that was part of the Roman empires dog. He knows absolutely everyone.

Terry might be doing a bit of a "sneaky" interview with PSU and Cal.

UT AD seems to have a really hard time with thinking he should be the next HC.

Wonder if that means Tang will actually talk to Del Conte this time and leave KSU...which means KSU will call Underwood (alum) again...

Interesting!
this is pretty creative. leave texas for penn state or if that's not bad enough, california? whew!

It’s not backpedaling. I’m still not a “fire Fred” guy. I’m a “it’s Trev’s job” guy. And I’m not one to throw 10 million to the wind for a basketball coach. Our basketball NIL game is weak. The dude from KSU got over 850k to transfer to Miami. I’ll assume his teammates got similar deals. They’re paying their players more than their coach. Changing coaches at NU isn’t going to matter if it sucks booster money from paying players.

Can you cite your source with regards to our “weak” NIL game as it pertains to hoops?

If the Huskers’ NIL offerings are so bad that it’s going to be the go-to excuse for losing out on any difference makers in the portal, here’s a thought. Find someone to run the program other than a hanger-on who’s best known for being Scott Frost’s chief apologist.

Write the checks then. You can make it happen.

So do you want that to change, or should it just be Fred’s go-to alibi until he's ready to retire?

Fred reminds me of John Sanders, at about 100 times the salary.
Gotta have people willing to write the check. Firing him would mean paying 2 coaches crazy money and I don’t think there’s the stomach for that right now. A lot is riding on who we can land in the portal now and IMO spending booster money on NIL would have more impact than spending it on a buyout.

I already know Fred’s not getting fired, so I want him to improve his performance. Not likely to happen if people make excuses for him. I said the same thing about Frost, and he just kept going through the motions until he finally forced Alberts’ hand.

This guy is only ranked as the 40-ish best player in the portal, which seems way too low:

Lazar Stefanovic, Utah

Pretty solid player from a decent, well-coached program. Shot 36% from the arc and 87% from the FT line. Might fit nicely into Griesel's spot.

Colorado probably made the biggest portal splash of the week by landing Eddie Lampkin, the massive center who left TCU. Not really a scorer, but a big man any team could use.

I’ll go way out on a limb say the NIL deals Lampkin’s getting in Boulder don’t amount to much - at least not yet. Basically recruited by CU guard KJ Simpson.

i'm guessing b12 teams said 'no thanks' to eddie. he has a lot of personal baggage and a momma who is relentless.
