“It’s so many different attributes in what we look for when we see a quarterback. You would love a coach’s son. Somewhere, that the coach has coached him. … That’s what, really, we look for in quarterbacks.

He also discussed the different things he looks for in linemen, both on offense and on defense.

“Different positions are different,” Sanders said. “Like, o-linemen, I look for dual-parent homes, a strong father that they adhere to. A smart kid, at least 3.3 [GPA] and above. … Tough, physical, offensive linemen.

“Defensive linemen is totally opposite. Single mama, trying to get it, he’s on free lunch. I’m talking about just trying to make it. He’s trying to rescue mama. Like mama barely made the flight. And I want him to just go get it. It’s a whole different attribute that you look for in different positions. And we have that stuff just chronicled. We know what we want, and we go get it.”

How many parents did Suh have? I want to follow the Suh formula. Just go get the baddest dlineman, regardless of location. In all seriousness I think we've been recruiting too many nice kids on our lines.

Since deon is a celebrity and a minority he can get by saying sh-t like that a double standard but the national media won’t discuss it

The guy knows the culture of those he is recruiting so have to give him some credit. Guess time will tell how successful he will be. Certainly has done well thus far in life. I grew up in the rural Midwest and have lived in the South for over 45 years and I can state without doubt the culture is very, very different and I don't mean that in a negative way. Both areas have pluses and minuses.

Exactly. For his sake, the man needs a filter. But alas "Coach Prime" is gonna shoot his mouth off like he always has. And that's why he's gonna have to win a lot of games and surround himself with experienced, professional coaches. Otherwise, it'll end badly.

Yeah Suh's father was an engineer. Suh drove a Range Rover in college.

Aaron Donald's father built a gym in his basement and woke him up at 4:30am every morning for a 2-hour workout.

Coach Prime is a clown.

I guarantee he’s not right, just stupid and weird stereotyping.

Better move that kid to the DL, his dad just left his mom. So dumb. I guess Dean Steinkuhler should have left his wife if he wanted his kids to make it to the NFL.

deon is 50% right on the money 50% of the time. keep sending reporters to him while coaching the game from the sidelines.

Exactly, it is an anecdote, is it "offensive" probably, to some extent to some people. But this is like saying "I only like blondes and Im not attracted to redheads"

Definitely could be.

Lets say he truly believes in what he says, I think he likes saying things knowing he won't get into trouble for it while also knowing others would (get into trouble) had they said the exact same thing.

Both had strong father figures. That was what Sanders was really saying. He wants dudes that can handle being talked to bluntly by another man.
