Figures. Seemed average at Nebraska. Goes somewhere else and blows up. Not that that happens all of the time, but it has happened more than once. Its amazing how average a player can look when everyone else around them is average.

Great motor, but many times would run himself out of plays or be too gassed to go full speed. With that being said, I'd much rather have that problem with players then not give 100%.

65 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 9 TFL and 2nd team all big ten. I think he probably backed it up more than anyone else on the team. Once again, will never understand why he was a whipping boy when there were so many others more deserving that didn’t sniff that production. JMO.

I always appreciated Nelson's effort. Great story and how can you not root for a Nebraska kid. I did question his lateral quickness. I think he probably has pretty decent straight on speed. I would think he would have trouble covering running backs and TEs on pass plays but can be a stud at blitzing the more solitary QBs and stopping the run game.

Why do you think he was a whipping boy? Because a handful of dipshits on a message board criticized him? Personally, he was a decent player on a program that never won more than 5 games while he was here. So, meh. Appreciate his work, but whatever.

His name and number won't be up there with Trev Crouch and Suh. He was a decent player on a bad football team, nothing more. I hope he has a nice NFL career and makes a lot of money.

I thought well of him. I think he should have stayed though and could have been a second rounder next season. I think he's a 5th or 6th round pick (or lower) right now or possibly an UFA.
