Sports outfit talk! We have reached stage 2 of this board’s acceptance of the new coach. Sports outfits matter!
This isn’t an original thought as I think I saw someone mention on this board already but I want to see little corn decals on the helmet ala the Buckeye decal at Ohio State
I hear ya, Riley didn’t know tradition and for gawd sake if they choice too,they need to wear Red helmets opposite of the original white helmets..
Wisconsin also wore their red pants at home this year which we haven’t worn since 1986 Oklahoma game..
I liked the grey facemasks when we wore the 'NU' helmets against OU
maybe not a permanent thing, but it's viable

Regardless of contractual matters....you have to agree the Nike uniforms look far more professional and clean then the adidas uniforms that are all stretchy and look cheap. Theres a reason the NFL uses Nike.
Nebraska needs a new identity and I'm all for some sort of uniform game switch up. I love our traditions and our past, but now is the time to make some changes. We can't be stuck in the mud forever. Now is the time to switch up the tunnel walk and other things. Hell get an all red helmet with a white N. Find a bunch of different combos. I'm all for it. LFG. Create some new traditions. We can't go any lower at this point.
The reason is that they paid a **** ton of money. The rest of your post is subjective

I really do like the idea of wearing red helmets with the white strip and white N on some different occasions..

So tear down all the statues because it may in some way be a reminder of a bad time? Nah. And dont see it as focusing on the past. Lots of traditions are good.
Agree.. Ohio St always for one games chances up uniforms and helmets and Michigan now wears all blue at home on occasions and Harbaugh has Michigan in white pants with strips for away games when it use to always be maize pants..
Dude just go look at the teams that wear nike versus adidas. Adidas are like spandex and cant even read the names or numbers half the time with logos stretched out. Nike remains intact.
Not to mention just from a fan perspective. My girlfriend is an Ole Miss grad so ill occasionally wear a nike ole miss jersey. It feels and looks great. The adidas Nebraska jersey I have ($180 purchase) is hysterically bad quality and fits terribly.
Everything needs to be exactly like 1995. It’s the only way we can ever get back to our rightful place.
How about if we compromise and do one alternate and one throw back per year? Would love to see them in the 1971 throwbacks.
I'd love for the uniform to be the 1983 version with the N on the sleeve with no stripes on the pants. That old school look is sick.
DIdn't say tear down the statues, but Nebraska is stuck in the mud with a bunch of our old traditions. The tunnel walk is great, but you can tweak it. New song, more smoke, pyro, etc. Blackshirts are a joke, figure out something different. Maybe helmet decals or something, who knows.. Stop calling the OL the Pipeline. It's outdated... There are so many things that need a face lift with Nebraska football. I think Trev is adjusting some of that. I like the mascot change and more embracing the past, but will probably have a new spin. Nebraska Football to me has been rotting for awhile and it is now time to spice it up. We hit rock bottom (hoepfully) and now we rolled out the red carpet for the new guy. Now is the prime time to make some other adjustments as we hopefully try to resurrect this disaster.
