No idea who’s going to fail or succeed but I think Rhule will be a better salesman for NU than fickle will be for UW when it comes to recruiting, he’s got some Texas ties that can purge us some talent using NIL. Wisconsin will always have homegrown lineman because the population is made of big Nordic dairy milking cheese curd inhaling fatties. We’ve got to keep Mickey at least for a year or 2 to get out recruiting back to top 20. Can you pay an assistant an incentive based contract? 1 million base with X many dollars per producing recruit

I'll he shocked if Snow is not the D.C. His defenses have been the strength of Rhule's teams at Temple, Baylor, and Carolina. Defense has not been the problem for Rhule's teams, it's been the offense. Snow is old but he's still a damn good coach IMO.
Why has his offense been the problem and what will his offense be here.

Rhule didn’t have any buyout - he was fired by Carolina. Wisconsin will have to pay Cincinnati a buyout on top of Fickell contract
Sorry misspoken it wasn’t a buyout but Carolina owed MRhule 40M if he sat around with out coaching..

Didn't Rhule win the same conference Fickle was in twice?

Fickle sure did impress at OSU with Braxton freaking Miller

real fans don't like when their program has the rug pulled out from under it one day after an AD with zero experience hands the next 8 years over to a guy who's never won a conference

and this is the cherry on top of 2 terrible decades

"fans" like you are why this keeps happening. you & several other hook swallowers would fit right in with the lapdog reporters on the Husker beat
Dude, you wanted Mickey Joseph…

Jim L is gonna get a call from Brent B over at Illinois if their DC leaves.
Possibly. As a DC who has the better resume, Leonard or Walter? If you are a AD and Jim Leonhard has just been added to the ‘available’ list, he deserves a look. Does he want to stay in upper Midwest? Played for 6 or 7 teams in NFL so he’s got those connections too.

I wonder if he would not mind the chance to "stick it" to UW.

o boy

you're offended

I'm sorry my posts about 2 people we will never meet made you feel that way

I hope I am wrong and our new coach who has never accomplished anything doesn't get his fat *** kicked every year by Fickell
Lol you wanted freaking Mickey. Don't think you have much room to talk when it comes to watching Nebraska get their *** kicked. That would have been a disaster

If we hired Fickell, people would be worried that he would leave for OSU as soon as it opens. And if Day keeps losing to Michigan that might happen sooner then later. Now Wisconsin has to deal with that problem.

I think Rhule is going to do great here. Fickell will do very well at Wisc, but at least we will have a competent coach to go up against him. Imagine Frost and his gang of misfits having to go up against Fickell’s badgers.

All things considered, fickell is undoubtedly a better hire than rhule. Its the simple truth when you eliminate husker homerism.
This is disappointing news,

Whether Rhule is a 7-9 guy or a 10-12 guy is going to be dependent on who he hires as assistants.

How so? Because he stayed at Cinnci forever and never left to take on rebuilding a P5 program?

Ok…eye roll…do I really have to present the credentials of fickell to you? I dont and it doesnt matter anyway, the husker rose colored glasses are out in full force.
Whatever, I hope you’re right and we arent losing to wisconsin most years. I was wrong about frost.

I know his resume and I think he’s a good coach. I also think Rhule’s resume, including cleaning up the dumpster fire left at Baylor is impressive. He could have also picked the easy route and stayed at Temple and continued to rack up double digit wins year after year if he chose to.

Fan like me .... I had zero input on the hire just like you. But nah let's not support something that can not be changed. Lmao you are unhinged at this point. But carry on with a sulking temper tantrum.

he is nearly 40 games over .500 in his head coaching career despite that 6-6 year at ohio state

meanwhile many a homer are desperately scrambling to reason away our new coach's career college record (year zero! took over dumpster fire! moved up the ladder too quick!) & NFL record (different game! control freaks work better in college!)

like I said - what a joke
6-7 at OSU

Couple questions.

Did Fickell do the best at Cincy with his players or someone else's?

Did he progressively get better at Cincy or has he regressed?

Honest questions.

Not me. I think he’s at his peak and he’s been blown out in big boy games
Lol. Hope you’re not serious. We got our tier 2 coach. Fickel or any other tier 1 was never coming here. To say Fickel got blown out. You might want to look at argyles record LOL. Good grief.
