What record do you think a random msg board person could put up at Ohio St? No ******* way I'm losing to Toledo or Northwestern.

As hard as it is to believe right now. Nebraska is a better job than Wisconsin. Wisconsin is way behind in NIL, facilities, and support staff, and they have much higher academic standards for recruits. If Trev wanted Fickell he could've gotten him. I really believe Rhule was Trev's guy all along.

Would be a really good hire for Wisconsin. Ability to recruit the state of Ohio would be huge.

Jim Leohnard will make someone a good young d coordinator

Man, if Wisconsin gets Fickell for $6 million, while we paid $9 million for Rhule....

That screams a candidate that is not nearly as hot as some on here would believe. While I would be extremely happy with him he did fail miserably at Ohio St his one year.

Damn good coach. Will be interesting to see if we F’d up by not landing Fickell. I expect both programs to be better. The conference just got better on 2 fronts.

That’s what’s makes CFB fun. Let’s go!!
Many Gen Z and millenials on here are too young to remember when nobody wanted to face NU and T.O because we would stomp a mudhole in them and walk it dry. That's what we haven't had in 25 years. You don't fear any other programs and coaches. They fear you!! Need to get that attitude and culture back!! GBR!!

so incredibly dumb

he built a team that would've beaten ohiost (and every other b1g team) last year

Judging Fickell on the one year he was interim HC at OSU is like definitively blaming Mickey for the dumpster fire that he was handed this year.

Wonder if their def coordinator will stay
Entertain G5 offers or move to another P5 program as a DC

Another way to look at this is that both UW and NU wanted Rhule, and NU was willing to go longer and higher, thus winning a bidding war. Fickell was the consolation prize.

Of course, I have no way of knowing this and completely made that up. I am certain that Fickell was contacted about the NU job. Either he was not interested (certainly possible), or NU cooled on him (also possible).

The difference between contract length and dollars is definitely interesting.

Fickell is the better choice. Won't know for sure for a few years. Trev over paid for Rhule

a good way to get that started is to hire the toughest guy on the planet to run your program not a spare tire with stubble & a high-pitched voice who looks like he'd get run up the flag pole by his whitey tighties every day in middle school

Well if anything this season could be a big swing for the Big 10 west. Upgrade coaches and try and close the gap to the East. And yes I know divisions are going away. But this conference needs and infusion of better coaches. Just hope Rhule proves that he fits that bill.

Yea, but got his *** handed to him with an elite roster at a Ohio St.
he is nearly 40 games over .500 in his head coaching career despite that 6-6 year at ohio state

meanwhile many a homer are desperately scrambling to reason away our new coach's career college record (year zero! took over dumpster fire! moved up the ladder too quick!) & NFL record (different game! control freaks work better in college!)

like I said - what a joke

Dude. T.O wasn't the toughest guy on the planet. McBride and Tenooir were. Hire great assistants and delegate. Not drinking buddies, brothers and ***** chasers.

I'll get behind the hire eventually but Fickell was the better choice. If he said no you go back and make him tell you no. This better work out

He made the playoffs a year ago and is 53-10 over the last 5 years. This would be a grand slam hire for Wisconsin

Yea, its Wisconsin. My point is if he's signing for 6 million he's not nearly the hot commodity some on here think.

Listen King Kong or Top Gun or Rambo. I know you're an emotional poster. I also know you've been banned multiple times for saying some dumb ****. I seem to recall a few crazy ones against Adrian. Maybe scale it back a bit before you have to find another new screen name again.
