The Silence is Impressive

The fact it hasn’t really leaked today shows the character of the AD and search firm. I know people will say that it means something is wrong but in todays social media atmosphere to keep it this quiet is truly impressive.

Fingers crossed the silence is Fickell, Kleinman, or Rhule.

Trev has also done a great job keeping this quiet. There was an article yesterday on TOS that said he has worked from home the last two weeks to make sure no one knew who he was talking to, etc.

Trev has handled the hiring noise perfectly up to this point…..but that could all evaporate with a bad hire.

Ha, ha - that means someone needed to bribe his wife!

I am surprised though that Trev would still be working on a deal these last two weeks. I would have thought as early as he fired Frost, he would have had it all done by now. Doesn't seem like it went quite as well as Trev indicated earlier.

Why would anyone think it would happen so quickly? IF it is done this week, that would be faster than I anticipated.

Dotting the I's and crossing the T's. The final round had to wait for the season's end. The initial round was to agree on terms and approx. salaries. I think when LL and a couple of others signed extensions they were eliminated for various reasons. Now that it is signing time, you get the final commitment.

What has been entertaining is watching the national media make stories out of nothing...

Hasn’t leaked LOL. He’s waiting to see which top programs want which coach. They he’ll decide who’s left. It’s not rocket science. It’s not his choice.

My friend’s son works in the AD and he doesn’t know. Or at least he says he doesn’t know, but I think he really doesn’t know this time. He did know ahead of time when Frost was hired.

The hiring of Frost was anything but a secret. Just about everyone knew that was happening. I think Matt leaked that one about his friend because he wanted it to happen so bad.

I'm as anxious as anyone to get this thing done, I just hope Trev Alberts has his man or he's close. I think we will have a good idea in the next two days where the coach may be coming from, a currently employed or currently unemployed coach.

How dumb are you? The fact that week after week it’s a different guy clearly shows that no one really knows and they are throwing out their best guesses in the hopes that they are right.

Surely you see this, right? Please tell me you understand this. If not, I’ve given Iowa fan far too much credit for the most basic levels of understanding.

And how would we know a hire was bad? He isn’t going to hire Riley. Some might view hiring a guy like Vigen badly but somebody like that could turn out to be a genius move. I would rather have a bright young coach like that than guys like Bronco or Kyle.

No one knows because Trev doesn’t either. He’ll hire whoever is left. The other schools will choose who they want. Then, we’ll have a pick in tier 2.

I’m feeling pretty good Trev has the guy he wanted. There’s just a lot of red tape, buy-out stuff and negotiating fine points.
