Seems like a lot of coaches are either turning trev down or signing extensions where they are. Nebr is not the top job some fans thinks it is, not anymore. If we are down to bronco then let MJ have the job with a 2 year contract, he seems to know what it’s going to take.

It’s a top 15-20 job with a bottom 5 AD.

Actually that isn't how it usually works. Timing is everything. If we see a few perceived candidates signing extensions or "pulling their name out of contention" all withing a short amount of time before the announcement, that means that they are no longer candidates for the NU job. The position has been filled by somebody else. Giving candidates the opportunity to their name out ahead of time is the classy thing to do.

I keep seeing these types of comments... no one knows what that job entails or the politics it takes to do it... including contract negotiations... Trev will prove himself a few years down the line based on his decisions today... 5 years from now you can say all you want about him... the majority of folks were ecstatic when Moos brought Frost & Hoiberg on board and look how that turned out... before you bash the AD you really ought to support the man as he might be making moves you couldn't fathom and get NU back to glory...

So how exactly do you know it isn't Trev turning down those coaches because he has his man?

I am not saying MJ is my Number 1 choice, but if its Rhule is out (TBD), and we don't make a huge flip hire like Kiffin or Fickle.
After that Trev is going to ask are they a better fit for nebraska than mickey.
Klineman- NO
Monken- No
Bronco- No

Mickey would be a Better fit for Nebraska than those 3 which seems to be the last 3 standing in "The Field" He knows what it will take to win here and win now. Nebraska is a unique job. It takes a certain kind of football to win in the Big Ten. Frost wanted to change the way the Big Ten played and it obviously didn't work. I think you will see the same thing when USC and UCLA join the Big 10. They are going to struggle week in and week out because the Pac 12 is not as Physical as the B1G.

Nebraska is not a Job to hire the best resume, you have to get the right fit or they will fail. If we ended up getting Dabo to come here, not going to happen obviously, and he tried to run the same scheme he has at Clemson he would also fail.

We need someone who knows Big Ten football, and again not saying Mickey is the guy but neither is Klineman, Monken, or Bronco.

He should have made the move a year ago. Wasn’t it clear? He needed 3 more games and extra time?

UCLA is 39-33-3 against the BIG.

USC has mopped the floor with the BIG with a record of 69-29-2.

Now do that for a full season... that's the thing NU learned the hard way

The BIG is garbage. USC will walk into the conference as the second best team immediately and probably wins the conference within 3 years.

Its easy to prep for one game vs 1 team. Week in and week out its a lot different. They Cant expect to put up 43 points a game. USC is also the 94th ranked Defense in the country. Frost tried to outscore other teams in this league and we all know how that went.

OU didn’t have the best defense when Riley was there, and it has carried over to USC.
