I would assume out of that list you would only be excited for one.

That would be Fickell. But even he isn't a "big" name.

No?

I think Luke gives me a boner

The rest not so much.

Monken would be amazing if he came here and ran the triple option for 2 reasons.

1. So many Husker fans think TO ran the triple option but he didn't
2. It would be amazing to see them embrace it until it did not work and then freak out.

Fickell and Klieman's agents are working to get their clients big raises/extensions. Hard to see either leaving.

If we're down to Monken and Doeren, God help us.

in my case, that would be correct

Fickell's a huge name - the #1 wishlist guy in the country for 3 straight years

I don't know for a 100% fact he'd bring the wingbone here

I do think it's worth nothing that Army were double-digit favorites last week against a bowl eligible G5 team and covered

No, he would not bring it, maybe some concepts of it, which makes sense.

BUT...I don't love the idea of hiring a guy who is very good at doing one thing only to not have him do that one thing at the new place. Now, he may very well be amazing with another type of offense but it would be like hiring Carrot Top to perform but telling him he can't use props.

Probably not much of a "rumor" but the rumor is that Saturday there will be the announcement.

Also, water is wet.

Klienman ain't coming. Won't live in the NU bubble and can retire comfortably @ KSU. Fickell ain't leaving Ohio. That leaves Monken & Leipold. Both could be good but are underwhelming. If it's down tp those two give me Mickey.

If that is really the list....

......for everyone 'cept for Fickell

I am calling B.S. just because I cannot wrap my brain around a bunch of .500 coaches with low ceilings, which is what that list is. I also seriously doubt he has a source outside of his butthole...which is what I wonder if he is talking out of.

The ONLY reason might be that Washington has gone full crazy...The state.

But even that doesn't seem like that big of a reason.

His daughter just committed to Washington for softball, so it seems like they like it out there.

I believe I read somewhere that he said he wanted to live somewhere where the weather was nice enough all year round for his daughters to be able to play softball outside year round.

Regardless, Washington is currently a better job than Nebraska.

Husker fan all his life? Fan base, resources, new facilities…

Not sure that would do it, but as to why, those are some reasons.

I still haven't seen any proof that DeBoer was ever a Husker fan. He didn't grow up in or play for Nebraska, so I don't know why Nebraska would be his dream job.

Washington has the resources and facilities to match Nebraska. Their stadium has a great atmosphere. Most people would rather live in Seattle than Lincoln, NE. His daughter just committed to Washington for softball. Easy to recruit talent there on the West Coast.

Fickell would be a home run. I haven’t thought of him much because everyone is convinced he won’t leave Ohio.
This is why I wish Trev was more like Moos...I think Moos has that personality...Trev seems like he is not a great salesman.

He’s smart enough to realize that he can’t line up in a pro set and expect to cram it down people’s throats. He understands his limitations and strengths roster wise at a service academy.

In fact, while we are on this topic of attainable coaches, Meyer, Fickell, and Sanders are the best available coaches. Any of them would be an amazing get. I just don’t see Trev getting them and assume it will be someone lame.

This may have been the list from 5 weeks ago. The search is over just waiting for the end of the season to announce.
Good thing.... if this is as far as Trev got in 60 something days its a joke. For the record, I think he already has his guy.
