I thought we have been thinking this for awhile now… if it’s not Mickey, it’s someone who will keep Mickey on. Or did I misunderstand what DB was saying?

It's almost like he was saying kind of a head coach by committee. Like MJ has some kind of say in who would be HC? Maybe I misinterpreted.

Interesting he name-dropped Terry Joseph, who’s on a staff right now with … Gary Patterson. At Texas. He also implied someone older and experienced. And he compared to Saturday at the Colts now and talked about former head coaches on that staff.
And I think Applewhite was on Patterson’s staff at TCU.

So, husker fans want the truth, well you fans can't handle the truth.

See, we live in a world that has sidelines, and those sidelines have to be walk by men with clipboards.

Whose gonna do it? You, TheHuskerFreak? You, Lincoln100?

Mickey has a greater responsibility than you fans could possibly fathom.

While you fans weep at at the huskers decline and you curse Whipple, you have that luxury. You have that luxury of not knowing what Mickey knows. That the husker decline, while tragic, probably save the program. And that Mickey's existence, while incomprehensible to you fans, saved the program.

You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at sport bars, you want Mickey on that sideline, you need Mickey on that sideline.

The football team uses words like belly option right, dime package, onside kick. They use these words as the backbone of a life spent practicing something. You fans use them as a punchline.

Mickey has neither the time nor the inclination to explain himself to a bunch of fans that rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very Saturday football game he provides, then questions the manner in which he provides it.

Mickey would rather you just said that you, and be on you way. Otherwise, Mickey suggest you pick up a clipboard, and walk the sidelines.

P.S. To HuskerFreak and Lincoln100, just having a little fun. No ill will intened.

He was..Still don’t know why Trev would hire Patterson after being fired during the early part of last year..

So Mickey did, in fact, order the code red. That is conduct unbecoming of a University of Nebraska Interim Head Coach, and he should be dishonorably discharged.

I think Trev is going to help put together a helluva coaching staff.
His job depends on it.

I’m fully aware of that… Hire him as the defensive coordinator than..
I think he and Busch would be damn good as Co-Defensive Coordinators.
A ton of experience among those two.

If Trev wants Mickey in the mix as HC or Associate Head Coach I think he will try to surround him with a ton of experienced assistants.

If he goes with Aranda, maybe he brings Grimes with him as the OC coach.

If Grimes is looking for a HC job, he brings in Tom Herman as OC/QB coach.

Find a former HC who made his bones as an outstanding OL or DL coach and this begins to have the look of ingredients to make a really nice staff.

Total guess on my part, but I could go for most of these scenarios.

This could be a mix-and-match staff with clearly defined responsibilities.

Patterson's head coaching record his last 3 years at TCU was worse than Riley's last 3 at Oregon St

I don't remember being terribly impressed with Terry Joseph while he was here. And he left us for a lateral move to Texas A&M. Why the hell would we want him back after that?

I hope this isn't a trial balloon being floated out there by DB
It's a Thursday afternoon, the pre-blow-out weekend ahead.
We're all just tossing ideas out there signifying nothing.

Every single one of us could write a list that goes from HC to the DB coach and entertain ourselves.

Until my name is Trev Alberts, I'm just passing some time. No way in hell I'm betting a plug nickel on what might happen in the next 3 weeks regarding the new head coach.

Opinions are free though.

Not overly impressed with the coverage technique he teaches, but he's a heck of a recruiter. He's making 800k a year at UT.

sure
What movie is that from? remember the titans?
A Few Good Men.

tman485 used a play on words with Jack Nicholson's testimony on the stand when he was being examined by Tom Cruise.

If you haven't seen that show, it's a must-see.

Report back tomorrow c3o.

After you watch the movie, and the intensity of that Nicholson testimony, you will see the brilliance of tman485's adaptation and how it fits.

Every time I tell someone to watch a GREAT movie they usually come back and say, "Ahh, it was alright. I fell asleep in the middle..." But, that's a pretty good movie!

That is why he‘s much better off as a defensive coordinator..

Who Would want this? Only can think of one other poster that thinks this would be a great hire..

I reserve great for about 10 movies.

Yes, Roadhouse is one of them.
Roadhouse was "pretty good." LOL

"I want you to be nice...until it's time...to not be nice."

(A Few Good Men is still better.)
