With the recent commitment of the RB from Louisiana, this is beginning to resemble a B1G offense.

Absolutely hate the RPO. Confuses your own team more than the defense most of the time when your receivers don't even know if they're run blocking or going out on a route at the snap.

Correct, he has not been an offensive coordinator at a P5 level. I don’t even see where he served as an OC ever in his career

I think he could be an OC, I think he wants to be at least an OC somewhere to move up the ranks. Especially if you have a guy like Rhule who can help him but also override him. I just have the feeling if he is not the OC or HC, he goes somewhere else then just like Bo we try and get him back in 3-4 years if the New HC does not work out.

Posts like this make me think many of you treat Mickey as a charity case. Well, we don't want him to be the coach but maybe he could be the coach in waiting while somebody like Urban Meyer shows him the ropes. If not that, maybe he could be the co offensive coordinator, so someone can show him the ropes until he's ready. Who the f*** does that? I'll tell you who doesn't. We don't have a bankable identity. We have an RPO for 4 years and then the next year decide to bring in a scrubby quarterback and expect a massive turnaround. Our offense wasn't recruited for this type of offense. The results are predictable

I've addressed the lines directly in my post rhule rebuilds olines and dlines like the industrial revolution..and mickey recruits them like oh....eisenhour during ww2.......plus my breif comment about the houston or nc state dc, had this covered also..

Me too. You could see a scenario if the Penn State job opened he’d jump ship. I know a ton of leaders that love to build but get bored when they are asked to maintain after that build. Making nothing something is an obstacle and keep on keeping in is a totally different animal.

Are you certain of that? I thought his wife said, in her interview, that they had a three year guarantee which means pay, doesn't necessarily mean he will be coaching. That would up to the HC. No way you tell a new HC who he has to retain or hire. But, I could be wrong on all of this.

This is funny. Our defense the past 5 games has kept the games close. Six straight 3 and outs and the defense will be freaking exhausted. The offense is the worst offense in NCAA history. mickey was a qb, and wr coach...and other stuff for along time...if he were to jump up at NU, Im 100% more confident in him jumping up from wr coach to oc (under rhule's guidance) then jumping from wr to hc...which has been suggested multiple times by scores of peoples.

plus it's just logical to go from wr coach to oc, then wr coach to head coach..
and I'm pretty logic based...3 actions are done at 1 time..
1. retaining mickey by advancement
2. keeping mickeys recruiting skills
3. not having trev roll the dice

it would be like a miltless or solichless dr. tom team
it would be lesser with lesser capabilities
what Nebraska needs is a full array of weapons..

now lets say the oline needs to be a m1 abrahams and the dc needs to be a trident sub..
we go out and get them coaches

but we have the raptor and f-35 to start with, got a good base for the start of engagement.
