If Mike Riley had decided to do away with the blackshirts for the majority of a season I suspect it would have been met with widespread condemnation

Often people’s opinions are influenced more by who made a decision rather than the actual decision
Mickey no doubt has cred. Riley did not

I think its a pretty harsh rash decision. Let them work for it. If they do well, they earned them. It should be a week to week decision. MJ needs to reconsider...

No he doesn't. I support the call. Get back to basics and improve.

im a big mickey fan but this is really making me question him
So, I just want to make sure we are clear on your position. You don't question Scott Frost when it is obvious that the program is a complete dumpster fire, but question Mickey Joseph after he has to takes over the dumpster fire and has that same team playing with a pulse? Over a black practice jersey? Geezus..... 😆 🤣

Edit: I hate to call you out...and I love the Blackshirt tradition as much as anyone, but if the Blackshirts are gone this year....and Mickey has this team playing sound football, I am more than okay with that.

The 2009 defense was one of our best ever. 2010 wasn't bad either.

****ing Math people.
Ha!

Husker fans all of a sudden think that every Husker D was the 85 Bears...

Suh makes the 09 defense close just by himself.

And are you seriously trying to say the 09 D wasn't exceptional?
No, it was amazing.

I am saying that all of a sudden some of these nuts are trying to pretend like every Husker D was the 09 D...and that blackshirts are not for the starters.

The Blackshirts is a moniker used to refer to NU Ds for decades and will be used whether they wear black practice jerseys or not. The more important thing Is if the kids can play like the teams that did wear the black.
