Davante Adams "Assault"

The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department released a statement Tuesday morning that elaborated on the situation. The man was a freelancer working for ESPN's Monday Night Football.

"The victim (lol) is a photographer at the Chiefs/Raiders game. At the end of the game, he was pushed to the ground causing injury. He made arrangements for private transport to the hospital for treatment at which time he called police. The injuries are preliminarily thought to be non-life threatening. The incident will be investigated by our Assault Unit detectives, upon completion they will coordinate with the applicable city or state prosecutor to determine any applicable charges."

The world we live in these days. I hope this guy loses money while he's chasing it. What a pansy.
***side note*** Adams should be suspended / held accountable for what he did. Not saying that he shouldn't, just saying the guy he pushed is most likely being dishonest for a money grab.

Adams was an idiot......and very few people would turn down the opportunity for a 5 figure payday in that photographer's position. Don't like it, but the buck stops with Adams.

I know it's a preliminary finding but I'm glad they clarified. Hopefully they follow up on this when they find out for certain that he's not going to die from tipping over.

Pretty simple - act like an idiot expect the consequences. He deserves whatever he has to give.

You seem mad that a man who was assaulted by a dipshit might get something out of this. Seethe and cope more.

I agree the photographer was an idiot and shouldn't have been there. But, we need to stop making excuses for athletes acting stupid. If I had a bad day at work and shoved someone to the ground, could I get out of it by saying I was frustrated and he shouldn't have been there?

It looks like the guy wasn't looking where he was going, and it is possible Adams may have had his head down as well (hard to tell with a helmet on where his eyes were). All Adams had to do was stop, help the guy up and there would be no case whatsoever. For him to say he "immediately" regretted it seems disingenuous as he just kept right on walking, his statement also basically admits he pushed him with intent. Oops.

I’ll bet he doesn’t lose money.

Was a dick move by adams. He assaulted that guy on national TV. You're not allowed to just go around shoving people because you feel like it. Hope the camera guy gets a nice check. A lot of these athletes are entitled and out of control.

Adams could have handled it better and helped him up afterward, but it wasn’t like he pushed a random bystander for no reason like all these headlines want you to believe.

I guess the only thing I have to say is....so is it cool if I pad up and just shove someone to the ground because I happen to be pissed at the time? No consequences?

On the other hand I expect worse than getting shoved if I get somebody’s face who is already pissed.

Absolutely he didn’t need to shove him. That being said, how injured is the photographer? If he didn’t suffer an injury of note, this looks like a money grab.

If he’s genuinely hurt, Adams should pay. Otherwise, no harm, no foul.

Pay a BIG fine to charity. Close the case. The NFL DOES NEED to send a message that this won't be tolerated. Sorry, Devante....we've just made an example out of your bank account.

Adams was pissed off cause he ran the wrong route on the 4th down play.

He took it out on the dork camera man who decided to walk right in front of him.
Doesn’t make it ok.

Camera man’s looking for a payday now.
Simple as that.

Cameras are heavy, and they're carried above the shoulder. If someone pushes you, no matter the force, you're likely going down. And whether you like what the person does for a living, he was simply doing his job.

Dumb actions by both parties. I also am a person who loathes the litigious society that we live in. At the same time, unless any equipment was damaged, I don't see why the camera dude can't just chalk it up to a funny story.

This is no different than Buzz Aldrin smoking that reporter in the face who asked him if the moon landing was fake. Getting in the face of an athlete who just lost a close game could be construed as a form of mockery by Adams.

Who knows. As Sol Rosenburg once said - "I fell down the stairs and my shoes fell off. And I'm very hurt about this. Sue everybody!"

I watched multiple angles. It could have been deemed accidental...if Adams hadn't made a statement saying he pushed the guy in frustration Laughing

He two hand shoved him. You don’t extend both arms on accident.

He didn’t get in his face he was walking in his path, as happens all the time. And he didn’t flop, he was pushed/two-handed shoved over by a professional athlete while carrying equipment.

I don’t like our litigious world and don’t think people should be able to cash in by suing celebrities, but if any of us did something like this out on the street, we would be in trouble. Adams should have to pay for any broken equipment and pay his medical bills. I think he should also do something as a show of good faith. A normal person would buy him a beer or something, maybe Adams could give the guy a signed jersey or tickets to the Pro Bowl or something. I also agree with that poster that said the NFL should fine him, with the fine going to charity.

Bart Sibrel, the ******* who questioned Aldrin, is not a journalist. He's a conspiracy theorist filmmaker with no credibility as a serious journalist.

Meh. Semantics...😂

But you get the drift. It's assault regardless of career field or why they are there. But perhaps justified assault in certain cases. I simply see both sides. I dunno.

There's no defense for what Adams did.

Needs a game suspension and a fine. Should write the dude he pushed a check for 25k.

How quickly he called police and said he was suing sure smells like a setup
No doubt about it, we live in a very litigious society....and lots of people are looking to get paid. I get the venom thrown at the freelance photographer, but this is STILL all on Adams. I don't think this is a setup, really. I doubt the camera guy was thinking, "Here he comes! Gonna get paid!" I doubt he even saw that shove coming.

Haha nah, I just think as a man that's embarrassing. Maybe I'm old school? Adams was out of line, but GMAFB. It's dishonest is what it is from the "victim". You think he needed to go to the hospital? You think he was seriously injured? Did you go to the hospital last time you scraped your knee or got a papercut? If you did then my bad for assuming you wouldn't? Adams should be fined and held accountable for sure. This guy should not get to fake a serious injury and get a massive payday from it though.

I have no idea if he was really hurt or not. Doesn't really matter. Every bit of this is on Adams. Act like an adult and all this never happens.
