That reminds me of a story Dave Weber (I think it was him) told about the Husker Orange Bowl victory against Miami in 94. He was on the sideline and got hit with an ear of corn. He said somebody yelled out something like "Get us some points Dave!". He held onto the corn and the Huskers started scoring. I probably butchered the story, but it was funny when I first heard it.

Yes, Dave was covering the 1995 Orange Bowl when someone shouted "Will them to victory!" and threw the "magic corncob" at him, right before Schlesinger's first TD. Dave is co-owner of Shirley's Diner in Omaha and was hanging out a week or so ago when my parents stopped in for lunch, and somebody asked him if he still had the corncob, apparently yes, he has it in a trophy case Laughing
