85 yards allowed in the 2nd half

I've been hyper critical of him, but the D have played well under him

credit where due (takes a big man to admit when he's wrong)

And really not a lot of points in the first half either. 14 against Indiana and 7 against Rutgers. And Rutgers was the opening drive. That says a lot

3 of the points our D “allowed” was probably the biggest series of the game. Coming off the turnover in the redzone and they held them to a FG. We lose if we give up a TD

I like coach Busch. But Noah Vedral is no Patrick Mahomes. And I think last week, the Hoosiers were without two or three of their top receivers.

He's got our DL playing better. Getting a better push from the middle and our ends are at least factors some of the time.

I think some of that is Mickey's doing, forcing them to practice hard. Looked bad that first drive but they got the guys attention at halftime.

Which offense on our upcoming schedule scares you the most?

Illinois? Purdue?

This isn’t exactly the AFC west

They played solid in second half against an awful Rutgers offense.

Team needs to learn to play for 4 quarters. First half was ugly. Lots of stuff still needs to improve, but at least they snagged a couple of much needed W’s.

Kudos to Wynn on this, but the effort by Gifford and Buford was unacceptable.
Buford has had way too many soft plays to be on the field. Farmer being similar.

It was ugly no doubt but the defense kept the Huskers in the game. They had to hold Rutgers to a FG after a blocked punt in the first half. The offense deserves the criticism in this ugly game. They had one nice drive and one nice play after the interception by Farmer to win the game.

All the teams we have left are better than we are. It is going to take a massive amount of luck to win any of them.

All true, but you know as well as the rest of us that a Frost or Chin-coached team would've managed to sh*t the bed against those hapless offenses. Both of the those teams were sitting at 3 wins. And under the previous regime, we almost always managed to play down to the opponent, regardless of their talent. Conjecture does us no good.

We gotsta take the small victories where we can get them. Because honestly, after Georgia Southern and Oklahoma, I thought our defense wouldn't hold up against any opponent, regardless of the opponent's talent level.

We're not going to be winning any major awards or accolades, but they're getting the f***ing job done lately.

Glass is half-full; lemonade out of lemons. 🥳

You are correct, but we have to remember the product that Frost & Chins handed over. MJ and staff have not had an off-season to teach and condition these young men. They have had one bye week in the heat of the regular season.

With that in mind, I am pleased with the improvements. Busch making adjustment at the half resulting in two shutouts is very refreshing.

Purdue will be more wide open passing offense for the most part .. Illinois and Minnesota will run the ball down our throats..

As I do agree. But given where this defense was against G. Southern. I do see improvement weekly. That's all you can ask for given the current situations these coaches have been put in.

Making them practice hard? How many players have puked in practice since Mickey took over?

No, the one that **** stomped Wisconsin. That’s the one I’m worried about. They run the ball very well. We don’t stop the run very well. It’s not a good mix.
Wisconsin is that bad. They are so bad, a team that lost to Indiana curb stomped them.
