if you had to list the starters from best to worse...
Ask me after 4 weeks without Chin. Drew and Wynn at least look athletic. Nash is a middle plugger that’s tough to move at least. I think it’s really tough to judge the back 7 given Chin’s ridiculous schemes. I really believe there’s enough talent to be a lot better than they’ve been. Busch I’m sure will try to put them in a position to be successful but he’s got a tough job making any major changes 3 games in.

When UAB holds Georgia Southern to half the offensive production we did, then you know a lot of the problem with our defense is coaching. Because there is no way that UAB has overall better defensive talent than we do.

You sure about that?

Would like to see them go man coverage and blitz a lot. If you're going to be bad might as well try to get some sacks and turnovers.

I honestly don't know. I spent more time this weekend watching college football than I have in a long. I'm convinced every team I watched looked better than us. How much is personnel and how much coaching and scheme 🤔. But if I was picking I wouldn't take many of our defenders if any.

We'll see

I guess ask cause I look at some players get miss tackles like hill, then I hear the announcer say he's good, then I see he's a soph..so I guess if he's on the feild as a soph. he must be good, then I wonder where the depth that was supposed to be building the last 5 years....like a jr. should be in there...atleast

not picking on hill specifically....just an example

We are told stars matter. I would assume star rankings for NU starters are higher than Georgia Southerns. Its coaching and conditioning.
All those smaller schools inside the SEC footprint are loaded with talent that didn't academically qualify.

There are lots of P5 schools who have less talent.. and a bunch of those in the B1G too.

So, who is an effective Blitzer on this team? Our secondary will get torched if they have to cover man to man all over the field.

Jay Foreman nailed it. He said their effort is really poor. Quite a few loafers on the team.

how is that different than what we're seeing now. Line up 10 yards off and give easy slants/out throws. Would rather give up yards while sending creative blitzes.

We can't get to the QB cuz we only have 2 actual DL....so easy to block. Add another DL like I have screamed for the past 4 months and watch the results get better.

Newsome, Buford (scheme adjustment could make him less mistake prone) Mathis, Tannor, and Wynn. Then everyone else.

I do think EMG is still our best blitzing lb we haven't seen enough of yet.

I'd like to see some others challenge for starting roles. Clark, Drew, Nash, Brown/Singleton...

Tannor is going to leave NU having played like 60 games and recording one single sack

Why has DeShon Singleton not been given a chance? Kaine Williams?

Farmer has been really bad and so has Buford when talking about tackling.
