Can anyone enlighten me as to what the issues are with physical development? I thought Duval & Co. were supposed to be top-notch when they arrived.

The team is getting destroyed in the trenches and lacks conditioning. That is the most simple answer. I'm also guessing there is a lack of accountability permeating S&C, reflective of what had been happening under crotch rot.

It is interesting because I believe he was closely aligned with Eppley and was also with the team during the glory days (in a much lesser capacity).

Remember, there was a lot of hate for Eppley toward the end. Maybe because Duval adopted some of his end-of-tenure methods.

This whole thing needs to be gutted. Marc Chavez and steroid Paul Hawley would do a better job getting these guys performing than DooDoo Duval right now.

Too much emphasis on lifting really heavy weights with poor range of motion, not enough emphasis on flexibility. Even untrained eyes can see that that our guys are slow, their raw strength is ineffective, and we have an athletic disadvantage.

What did Devaney tell Boyd? If they get slower, you are fired.

Urban said it best. Nebraska has to get back to player development and find an identity and not do what everyone else is doing.

Do what's best for Nebraska.

One thing I never liked about Duval is that they don’t do deep squats. I’ve had it confirmed by two HS coaches that have been to NU camps that Duval straight up told them that they don’t go all the way down because you never do that position in a game.

That seems crazy to me.

Totally agree. Looking strong on social media clips ain't gonna help them on the field. Going heavy can really place a lot of strain and their joints leaving themselves susceptible to injuries. We've seen plenty of those. They seem to play stiff. These kids aren't bodybuilders or strongmen. Regardless of Duval's philosophy, we need to recruit much faster athletes across the roster but especially in the trenches.
