Can someone explain to me how taylor and adrian martinez were excellent choices to be pass happy?
I understand taylor had good straight away running speed, and adrian ran like a deer.
but I'm finding difficulty understanding how that translates to pass happy?
please advise

In today’s world 1+1 doesn’t have to equal two anymore. it doesn’t have to have a explanation

I don’t think Bo Pelini or Scott Frost ran a pass happy offense. But I’m guessing we have different definitions of pass happy.

I believe they thought Taylor would end up not being a QB but he was way better than Cody Green and Zac Lee at moving the offense so they went with him.

In 2010, Taylor's first year, we ran 45x a game and passed 20x a game.
In 2012, when Taylor was all conf qb, we ran 47x a game and passed 27x a game.

Last year, we ran 41x a game and passed 28.5x per game.

Taylor Martinez was never going to be a good passer. Hell, my arm hurt just watching him trying to throw the ball. Adrian Martinez struggled throwing the ball because of terrible terrible coaching, in particular offensive line coaching....which is still terrible. Donovan Raiola needs to go coach at UNK.

Taylor was probably never going to beat top 5 teams, but he gave you a chance against everyone else. I rewatched a bunch of games from that era a couple of months ago - he'd hit some tough throws in traffic. He'd also miss some pretty easy ones.

Well once TM's ankle was all screwed up, he had to learn to become a productive passer, which he was.. enough to win a lot of games. He didn't start off being that good of a passer, he just sort of became serviceable is all. He was a good QB. Not a great one, but a good one.
