In recent history, we have had two coaches that were not affiliated with the program previously, Mike Riley and Bill Callahan. I guess you could technically argue Bo Pelini, but Bo did serve as a defensive coordinator for Frank Solich in 2003. Anyway, if you look at Bill Callahan and Mike Riley, both had a losing record in their 1st year. We had patience for them in their 1st seasons because they are playing with mostly players from the previous staff. Riley and Callahan had winning seasons in their 2nd year. Callahan had a winning season his 3rd year. Both had losing seasons their final year and they were shown the door. Compare that to Frost, he was forgiven in his 1st year much like Callahan and Riley. Now it's year 5 and Frost has yet to have a winning season. Would Callahan and Riley be given such long leashes, no they wouldn't, Callahan was fired in year 4 for having 2 winning seasons and 2 losing seasons. Mike Riley was fired for having 1 winning seasons and 2 losing seasons. If Frost was judged by the same standard as Mike Riley and Bill Callahan, he would have been fired after his 2nd straight losing season.

Can you edit that and make it a few paragraphs so it's actually legible?

We need a big time coordinator and outsider. We've had three successful coordinators without previous HC experience (TO, Solich, Pelini).

The the guys we've had with precious HC experience (Callahan, Riley, Frost) all busts.

Enough with the good ol boys club of Nebraska. They're like the modern GOP... No thanks! We the people deserve better!

Just hire the best coordinator in the SEC this year

if that doesn’t work, try again in 3 years

and so on

I've often wondered what Callahan might have done if given a 5th year and the chance to hire a new DC. There were a lot of highly regarded recruits and players like Suh coming up in the program. There were a lot of POed Solich-nistas in the program that were hellbent on getting him out of there from day 1. Once Osborne was hired as AD it was game over no matter what the staff or team did and they knew it. The morale and overall unity in the program fell apart.
Mike Riley should never have been hired. He was a marginally successful coach at Oregon St. His tenure was rightfully ended at 3 years.
Frost has been given way more leeway than any other coach would ever be allowed at a former blue blood program. No way he would have survived for a 5th year anywhere else.
