Onside kick was the right call

No it wasn't. That call lost the game. One could argue it was the dumbest thing Frost did his entire coaching career from his first GA job to today.

Even the people in Ireland who don’t understand American football knew that was a dumb thing to do.

At the family farm south of gillet grove, we used to practice that onside kick. Works once in a while.

First game of the season, all the momentum going your way, it’s the right call. Chins didn’t hold up his deal in the bargain

It was a stupid *** decision before the onside kick was even attempted and it was a stupid *** decision to go ahead with it. Killed all the momentum.

So, help me understand the logic here. It was the right call because it was the first game of the season and Nebraska had all the momentum? The problem was Chins D didn't stop NW? Did I get the logic correct?

Well, it was very poorly executed to start with. Second, it was the perfect call to lose the momentum you just built up. Third, Chin's D hadn't stopped NW all day, why put his D in a short field?

The overall odds are extremely low at best so was not the right call, especially for a team whose D has been struggling and hasn't won a meaningful game in forever.

Frost made the call and it was the right call.

Sweep the leg Johnny.

I’m glad he’s a coach that trusted what they saw on film and went for it.

It's the right call if you are very sure you are playing against a better program and their offense's talent and coaching is a lot better than yours.... Otherwise, make 'em earn the win and not give them short fields and some momentum.

It's disappointing that we could not overcome that silly decision....and I don't think it was the right decision to even try it, but again, do we suck so had that as soon as something doesn't go right we fold like a cheap tent and prepare to lose? Can we not overcome a play that doesn't go our way?

Every single one Nebraska at the game or watching on TV said “ What the **** was that” or “ What the **** are you thinking Frost”

Not one person with any common sense wound have said that was a great call..

After the blocked punt in the Iowa game last year Scott Frost was quoted saying “that blocked punt was the game”

we were still leading the game in the 4th quarter
We had outplayed Iowa the entire game
We were at home

but despite all of the above the head coach knew the game was over … that is the culture that Scott Frost has built over the last 4 years and will continue to fortify for the remainder of his tenure

No. Just....no.
I asked the TV what the heck UN was thinking when that happened. Up by 11 and with all the momentum you kick it into the end zone or deep in the corner and make Northwestern drive the field.

You play to win the game and Coach Frost showed confidence in his guys to either end the game right then, or have Chins finally step up and make it happen.

Great call and everyone would be saying the same thing if it works or if Chins doesn’t blow it

If you have a dominant team and you want to finish your opponent, maybe. Two equal teams when you just stole momentum, horrible call.
Seriously. Surprise onside kicks against OU or OSU maybe, but Northwestern and with a 2 possession lead? Still can’t believe it. And I’m a Cowboys fan that lived through a running play with limited time on the clock and no timeouts in the playoffs. Mike McCarthy and Scott Frost? Whatever God I offended, I repent!!!!
