Seems like an odd duck to me. I'll be a little surprised if he succeeds at Oklahoma.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here, but I actually believe he might end up being pretty good. Maybe even an upgrade over Riley.

If you ever take the time to listen to what he preaches it follows along the lines of highly successful people.

Attention to detail, everything matters, accountability, compete every day, etc…

Its one thing to say it, getting everyone to buy in and do it is another thing.

But I will say this, he has a long history of being involved with championship teams and the benefit of learning from some very successful coaches.

I wouldn’t be one bit surprised if he proves a lot of people wrong. Bob Stoops seems to think he’s the right pick and that guys no dummy.

Oklahoma will have more trouble competing in the SEC regardless of who's the coach once they get to the conference. But they will be much, much better off financially.

Let's be real here. The guy knows how to steal your offensive signals. He will be done in less than or equal to 3 years at Oklahoma.

I agree. I know he is part of the OU family but I can't imagine he was their first choice, maybe, but who knows.

I predict he will have much less success than Bo, who really was in a similar situation.

It just seems like an odd fit to me. Same way I felt about Bryan Harsin at Auburn. And yes, I know he’s coached there before.

BV after Stoops would have been a powerhouse transition. I can't help but feel that right now, he is OU's Bo Pelini.

I will give him this - they are recruiting very well. Something that Solich and Pelini didn’t do.
Too early to tell. Maybe a real emphasis on defense is what they'll need going forward. He could be the right guy.

He‘s taking over a much more sound program in Norman than Pelini did in Lincoln having to take over a program that had 2 losing seasons of the prior 4 years..
