So, QB Tanner Morgan is 3-1 against Minnesota heading into 2022, is that right?
It was the Nebraska game, which he made his breakout performance and became the starting QB as a RS freshman in 2018. Morgan replaced an injured QB Zack Annexstad to start the second half at Nebraska and completed 11-of-16 passes for 214 yards.
One concern for the Golden Gophers under PJ Fleck has been the teeter toddler seasons between 2019 and 2021. Will this hire mitigate it for Fleck?
While there are plenty of questions, Minnesota has some talent returning, as well.
This fall will arrive soon enough. The Minneosta-Nebraska game should be a good one in 2022.

To clinch the deal, (OC Kirk) Ciarrocca had maintained strong relationships with the core returning offensive pieces at Minnesota. He helped recruit Morgan, Ibrahim, wide receiver Chris Autman-Bell and center John Michael Schmitz to Western Michigan in the Class of 2017. All four players went with Fleck to Minnesota.
They’re sixth-year seniors in 2022, the “Encore Four,” poised with Ciarrocca to fix Minnesota’s imbalance issues from last season.
“Philosophically, we’ve always strived to be balanced,” Ciarrocca said. “It goes back to Western Michigan. We’re always going to be a physical team. That’s something that P.J. and I both believe in.”
This is going to be an interesting program to watch in 2022.

Final assessment
Until the offensive and defensive lines jell in a way that Fleck believes possible, talk of improving on the nine wins of last year is premature. The Gophers’ experience and talent at key spots on offense offer a recipe for explosive production, a la 2019.giving my predictions for minnesota here since it purtains to the thread and our season....new mexico win....western illinois win....colorado win to start out 3 - 0.....then michigan state close one but loss....purdue win.....illinois win.....penn state win....rutgers win....nebraska loss.....northwestern win.....iowa win......wisconsin close loss
Purdue is better than Nebraska this year and a west contender. Purdue has the better coach as well. Purdue wins 8+ this year.

The west is so filled with bad teams that freaking NW has won the division like 3 times in the last 10 years.
Like I said before, the first thing the teams in the west do is look at their crossover games. They know that if they draw Indian, Rutgers and MD, they will be the "favorite" to win the west.
The teams in the East never even look at the crossover games.
I do find it interesting that the east vs west record is almost .500. I think its 6 wins in favor of the east. Really though, it's osu. If osu was in the west, we'd talk about how much better the west is.

Ya. They have. Purdue has had some very good teams and very good players. One of the best QB producing teams in NFL history. If they play AOC all year last year, they probably win 10 last year. Won 9 though. Fun year though.

I'd probably say 8 or 9. If they beat Penn state week 1, then I think 10 could be more realistic. I don't want to assume a win vs psu though. Should be a rocking game though! Purdue has all the pieces to be a solid team though. Less than 8 wins would be disappointing.
