ESPN+, the Disney-backed streaming-video sports service intends to raise its monthly subscription fee by $3 a month — a 43% price hike that outstrips even the current rate of inflation. "BOHICA!"

Disney hates ESPN. It is an albatross.

I had ESPN+ because I had an ESPN Insider account. I think I watched it twice. It has lots of FCS level football and basketball games. A few shows. But by comparison, I think you can get a lot more bang for your buck with pretty much any of the other streaming options. And I dropped my Insider account too. ESPN let go of a lot of great writers and cut the budget for just about everything I cared about over there.

Well, i get disney, espn and hulu for free through Verizion, so no change for me, though having Verizion is its own thing.

ESPN+ is like a crack dealer. They got people hooked with ESPN 3 for several years then started charging a small fee for games to watch that would never see the light of day on national broadcasts. Now that they got you hooked, out comes the ramrod and there goes your virginity... The Evil Empire sucks and people will pay the new fee because the needle is permanently stuck in their arm.
