He was my first choice over frost and mike. Proven winner in big 10, his style of play would be like by NU fans and games vs osu would have tons of hype. Also tatoogate is peanuts compared to whats going on now.

Would never watch a game he coached at Nebraska. Scum bag snake oil salesman.... I lived in Columbus during his tenure at tOSU. He has 2 faces.

I question how much fire he has left burning inside to do the job. I'd guess very little. When you hire old retreads you have to remember you aren't getting the guy from 10 years ago. I'll pass.

If this is a voluntary retirement, you have to assume he doesn't have enough fire burning to stay on as an academic administrator, let alone return to a meat grinder-type role as a head coach, unless its at a small school where there isn't pressure to win. Can't ever recall a coach resurrecting their career in their 70s, except Bill Snyder being called back to rescue KSU for a 2nd time.

Mack Brown is doing good. Nick Saban is the same age.

Saban is entering his 16th year at Alabama and 27th consecutive year as a head coach. He certainly resurrected Alabama football, but has never been in a position of trying to resurrect his coaching career. Mack Brown was out of the game half as long as Tressel. He's 21-17 in 3 years at UNC - that's good enough to be on the hot seat at a number of P5 schools.

Urban has way to much Bad luggage he Carries with him , eventually he will put the program in a bad spot , plus he is a scumbag as a person and his word is no good.
Are you saying that Meyer wouldn’t be interested in the Texas job if it was open. And if he was, Texas wouldn’t be interested in him?

Urban is one of the best college football coaches ever. You guys are foolish to think that a school wouldn't want him to be coach. Winning cures all in college football.

His former players love him and he did a pretty good job at Ohio State in all respects. Doubt he gets back into D1 football coaching though.

He's seventy years old same as me and like me he should enjoy retirement. I believe coaching football at the pro, college and HS level is turning into a young man's game, I want new blood in the game not retreads. I know there are many older coaches in football many who are very successful but it doesn't change my mind about new blood. jmo

Boo on Tressel, he just does boring stuff like run the football and play defense. We want that innovative offense we've come to love.
