Seems like a late bloomer, but hearing his named mentioned a lot recently. No P5 offers yet, anyone have more insight on this 23 prospect from Omaha Creighton Prep?

I think he is a made man in the Omaha Mafia. Is he a football player or a boxer?
This is just flat out ignoring facts to fit your agenda. I went back as far as internet recruiting era goes. Scott Frost has offered more in state recruits than anyone since Frank Solich. An *** kicker on the football field. Ran a 4.8 and could improve on that this summer I suppose. For Nebraska it will come down to where you play him. He's probably more of 3-4 DE or an athletic OT that will need time and an opportunity to develop. He's been overshadowed by Maverick Noonan. I'm not sure NU would take Noonan and Marcelino. Frost is pretty conservative with scholarships at least when it comes to in-state kids.
I could see him going to a place like Northern Iowa, playing a ton of football and getting drafted.
Facts are facts and 25 in a year has been around for a long time. There are people who seem to value playing or starting native boys more than winning championships. I’m not one of them. If Nebraska continues to be a vastly overrated former blue blood, I will watch them on TV but could do something else if I deemed it more important. In my wedding, a long time ago, i tried to pick a weekend where the Nebraska opponent in the fall didn’t cause to much attention divided elsewhere from the invited guests. The father-in-law agreed with the date. The game was a surprise nail biter in 1983.This is just flat out ignoring facts to fit your agenda. I went back as far as internet recruiting era goes. Back mostly in the Osborne era, walk-ons earned surprising starting spots fairly regularly at the offensive and defensive positions. true.. back then, we developed players.Back mostly in the Osborne era, walk-ons earned surprising starting spots fairly regularly at the offensive and defensive positions. Many were very good players, regardless of scholarship or not status in the beginning of their careers.
This EXACTLY! Everyone wants to point out the Nebraska born and raised and make the connection it is because they care more, invest more, work harder, etc, etc.true.. back then, we developed players.
That's not saying much. He's offered more guys only because the talent is way up in the state and when he does offer he's not exactly quick with the offers or putting a lot of personal effort in to sign those guys. Some of those guys he offered never even visited. This is just flat out ignoring facts to fit your agenda. I went back as far as internet recruiting era goes. Numbers are numbers. They don't have feelings or care about or when they happened. You can say the same thing for any of the previous coaches. That is just trying to distract from the fact that of all the things you can complain about the lack of success of Scott Frost, this isn't one of them because you can't dispute the numbers. That's not saying much. Never said he was ignoring it. But anyone can half *** it on the job and still claim that they aren’t ignoring their job.Numbers are numbers. There is one year where he offered fewer than the most Mike Riley, Bo Pelini, or Bill Callaghan ever did in any year of their entire careers at Nebraska.
I don't know how to put this anymore bluntly. This narrative is wrong.
Complain all you want about the lack of winning, but keep yourself based in reality. Scott Frost is not ignoring instate recruiting.
Here is exactly what you said: "Frost is pretty conservative with scholarships at least when it comes to in-state kids." I proved you wrong with objective numbers and then you changed your complaining to "he's half-assing it". Easier just to change your complaint to fit your opinion than admit you were wrong.Never said he was ignoring it. The 2022 class, even though there were several offers really only brought in Hausmann, Appleget and Stenger. Losing, and not really being in on, the top 4 in that class gave many the impression that the effort wasn't there, especially since that is the most recent class signed. Here is exactly what you said: "Frost is pretty conservative with scholarships at least when it comes to in-state kids." Ya, that story had more twists and turns than a Murder She Wrote show. The 2022 class, even though there were several offers really only brought in Hausmann, Appleget and Stenger. I believe there was more to it, with Papa Johnson leading the way with some of those kids.
You didn’t prove a thing. I said he was pretty conservative. Meaning he slow plays kids, is slow to evaluate. Then offers after other name schools have already jumped in. It’s stupid and typical of a losing coach. The latest groups of in-state kids are bigger in numbers so Frost has belated offered some more guys than past coaches WHO ALSO WERE VERY RELUCTANT TO OFFER IN-STATE kids. Big deal. Riley and Bo also would have offered more kids given these stronger classes of late. It is what it is. Now the Bergman kid commits to OU… said Mickey visited him at his school then he never heard anything else until NU later offered out of the blue. Here is exactly what you said: "Frost is pretty conservative with scholarships at least when it comes to in-state kids." So I need to ask this question, is Barrett Ruud in over his head with the recruiting responsibilities of his position on this staff? For all his Nebraska ties to the program, HIS results appear to be underwhelming. You didn’t prove a thing. I said he was pretty conservative. Meaning he slow plays kids, is slow to evaluate. Execpt I did.You didn’t prove a thing. I said he was pretty conservative. Meaning he slow plays kids, is slow to evaluate. Then offers after other name schools have already jumped in. Right or wrong, the perception out there among some of the metro players who went elsewhere was that if they really wanted them, they would be doing more than just having Ruud contact them and try to get them to attend summer camp/Friday night lights. In my opinion, Ruud isn't in over his head but he needs more support. The days of NU going to New Year's Bowls and having in-state kids commit immediately after being offered are over.So I need to ask this question, is Barrett Ruud in over his head with the recruiting responsibilities of his position on this staff? For all his Nebraska ties to the program, HIS results appear to be underwhelming.
OK. We've established that in your mind you proved some kind of point. I'm not sure I remember what that point even is anymore. Frost is coaching at a time when in-state talent is as good as it's been in 25 years. And he's signing a poor percentage of them. I'm sure signing every in-state recruit wouldn't instantly bring the program back to elite status (as some out of state posters on this board love to always point out). But it's typical of recruiting overall under Frost-- he brings in a lot of guys who receive a lot of hype but apparently they are such total busts that Frost decided that he needed a lot of transfers to play over them.Execpt I did.
Here's some more interesting info:
2023
Malachi Colman - First P5 offer
Gunnar Gottula - Third P5 offer after K-State and Iowa State
Maverick Noonan - First P5 offer
Benjamin Brahmer - Second P5 offer after Iowa State
Brock Knutson - Forth P5 offer after Kansas, K-State, and Iowa State
Kade McIntyre - Fifth P5 offer after K-State, Minnesota, Tennessee
Sam Sledge - Second P5 offer after Kansas
Beni Ngoyi - Seventh P5 offer after Kansas, Pitt, K-State, Minnesota, Iowa State, Washington.
Did they slow play a few (Ngoyi, McIntyre, and kinda Knutson), yeah, but do these kids get the other offers they do if they have the early Nebraska offer? Likely not. Malachi Coleman didn't explode until he was going around a lot, so people viewed him as worth a offer and willing to look around. Look at Brahmer and Gottula. Definitely would have more than a couple of offers. The ones the know they want early, they are one of the first in with the offer.
I lIke a lot of what you provided here except the last two sentences. Frost hasn’t been pretty conservative with scholarship offers And going to a school like Northern Iowa and getting drafted happens and is a rarity of sorts. Like getting drafted at Nebraska except for this year. Nebraska needs players from ALL over to be better and a handful drafted every year if they want to go to meaningful bowls and win or really compete for championships. It was once a staple and is now the good old days. But this conference is better and harder to win.An *** kicker on the football field. Ran a 4.8 and could improve on that this summer I suppose. For Nebraska it will come down to where you play him. He's probably more of 3-4 DE or an athletic OT that will need time and an opportunity to develop. He's been overshadowed by Maverick Noonan.
