There's probably multiple all-B1G quality DL riding the pine in the SEC.

Bama, Georgia, A&M and Florida's 3rd string could probably play meaningful snaps on Nebraska's line in the B1G.

Yep...and remember NU doesn't need to beat Bama and UGA.

They just need DT's that are better than the lame *** OL's in the Big Ten West.

who was damion daniels listening to for NFL draft advice? many NFL draft analysts don't even have him getting drafted next week. he could have stayed and made good $ from NIL and if he had a great senior season he would then be in a much better position draft-wise. it seems college basketball players have a huge advantage vs football players in the amount of time to pull out of the draft and return to school. if Daniels knew he may not even get drafted he would more than likely have returned for another year.

Devin Drew visiting. Hearing this via 1620. Likely being discussed behind the pay wall. In portal via IWCC/Texas Tech, prepped in KC. Spot backup duty role one would guess. 8 days to find a capable starter.

Feels like he would be a solid depth add !

To add on to what others wrote...

Alabama's 2nd or 3rd string is likely to play meaningful snaps for us, may and likely to be more talented than our starter. Also, we don't have to compete against Alabama on a yearly basis (though we'd love to). Another thing and most importantly, where a young man is now isn't where he will be in the future. Just because he is 2nd or 3rd string now, doesn't mean he won't develop into an all-conference player. I really like what we are doing and hope we land transfers like this.

8 days? Is that just when kids need to be in the portal by to not have to sit next year. Not when they have to sign by.

He'll probably get signed as an UDFA if he's not drafted. Let's just say that some of these guys aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer when it comes to career moves. Good luck to him.

A guy good enough to be third team or whatever to get in games at Bama, probably makes us better immediately.
There are only a handful of NU players that would have started at Bama in the past 15 years. Suh and maybe Randy Gregory (if he stayed elligible) are the ones that come to mind.

Come on now. LD, Crick, Prince. Lots of our WR would have started - Bell, Q, Stan. Both Cams, Jojo, Allen, even Toure (after the injuries bama had at WR) are likely starting last year. Bama doesn't have 22 draft picks as starters.

What's been said is that Trey McGowens is working on him to come here as they are tight. Wynn and Mathis? I'll take that.

No, not a single one of our WRs would have started for them. They've had the best receiving corps in college football for the past 10 years.

Correct- there will be quite a few new portal names this week and most programs will be circling like sharks looking for their fresh meat.

Rogers immediate offer list is a good example for a guy who really hasn’t played all too many snaps.

Obviously, if you count the kids that are staying at Bama and Georgia that would be the case. But of the kids who are transferring I wouldn't be too sure.

I'm glad you included A&M on that short list. Seems like everyone who plays OL there lately is getting drafted.

I agree with you. Alabama has awesome talent, but they've had some weak links on their team over the years (just ask their fans).

In 2016, for one example, a MAC transfer started for them as their #3 WR. He was not even close to as good as Stan. You're way overrating their role players.

Go watch the title game vs Georgia and watch their TE play. It cost em the game. Allen would have been their #1 there.

wow ... we've had players that would have started for Alabama and were coached to 1-8 record playing in the big ten west last year

the problem isn't the players

Those players held OU and Ohio St to season lows in points. They led a playoff team midway through the 4th quarter. You don't do those things unless you have some horses.

i don’t think that in year 4 we should be counting anything other than wins as “things”

Definitely can see that. Just take a look at the DL talent Bama has sitting the bench. It'd be awesome to be able to land some of their bench warmers.

Bama's 2nd string DLine:

Bama's 3rd string DLine:

Plus Wynn who was rotting away on the bench:

One man’s trash is another’s treasure

Remember Jameson Williams was WR 4 @ tOSU and not in the starting lineup for the Buckeyes. But he was basically Bama offense last season

* make no mistake Williams was legitimately #4 WR @ tOSU. It wasn’t as if Ohio State staff was overlooking him.

That still is wild to me. I get it, because Olave, Wilson, and Smith-whatever are amazing, but Williams looked like the best of em last year.

Their TE is a great player and a great talent. Just had a really bad game like Fryar did in the 83 championship game. It happens. No Allen wouldn't have been their #1 over what they had.
