Would be really too bad, if true.
After 4 years of spinning our wheels, we might finally play a little offense ourselves this season.
Also - every osu quarterback outright sucks the second they leave Columbus, so if NFL success is important to him, better to come to an unknown that never puts QBs into the league than go to a program that molds bust after bust.
I think you're generalizing here. Both Tressel and especially Urban utilized read-option QBs (Pryor, Braxton Miller, JT Barrett) whereas Ryan day utilizes a pro-style, NFL-type QB and offense. In fact,
he was a QB coach in the NFL. His only 2 QBs at OSU have/had experience in the NFL - Dwayne Haskins (RIP) and Justin Fields and Fields could become a star with Chicago. In fact, OC Ryan Day was one of the key reasons Fields transferred to OSU. Day's current QB - CJ Stroud - is a drop back- in the pocket - QB and only runs when necessary (he can run).
So while I get the stigma with past OSU QBs, it's more important to look at the current staff and the type of offense they employ and I'm sure this was emphasized to Raiola
