And your not an 18 year old kid passing up frat parties full of jersey chasers. Yes we all have responsibilities because life requires them. Our families require them. But these kids do these for us. They could live a life of carefree partying but don’t
"They" do this for themselves, their family, their teammates and coaches. Not for the fans.

I am all for players earning what they can earn...but I also believe if the Universities said they were no longer going to pay any scholarship money that kids would be paying their own way to play....

No one said it was charity. It’s entertainment. So stop trying to play it off as something it’s not. Good for you if your dollar only goes towards to needs and the rest to charity. But since you are typing on a chat board, I’m guessing you spend some money on entertainment.

bottom line, we didn’t need your pretentious *** response. Don’t contribute. But STFU
Sounds like you should be in DC telling us how we should spend our money.

LOL. OMG. This is so mid. That's great, but "getting top recruits to Lincoln" wasn't your play before, before it was all about how difficult college is for these D1 athletes. Now it is about getting top recruits to Lincoln? Yeah, thanks for your contribution, I just don't know how I would make it through life without getting the top recruits to Lincoln. You are a true fan.
“So Mid” good come back. Let’s throw in some slang to not sound so lame.

and my play before?!?! Are you this big of an idiot. My play is to help contribute. If that’s to layered for you, then maybe find something else out of the urban dictionary to help you feel “cool”.

If you think you're being productive in manufacturing reasons why people should donate to this cause, you need to change your approach. I guarantee I don't answer to you. And I don't donate to any 501(c)3's.

In my world, I'd fire your ***.

You're dropping "lol" and suggesting I'm old, so I was trying to speak "dipshit" so that you could understand.

You just typed out:

"And your not an 18 year old kid passing up frat parties full of jersey chasers. Yes we all have responsibilities because life requires them. Our families require them. But these kids do these for us. They could live a life of carefree partying but don’t."

How big of a tool do you have to be to not only believe that, but type it out. 1) You think giving up frat parties is a massive sacrifice; 2) you think guys getting NIL don't party; 3) The choice of a life of "carefree partying" is much more alluring and beneficial than is being on scholarship and all of the benefits that come with it; and (hands down one of the dumbest comments in the last few years on this site) "these kids do [this] for us." You told me I need to congratulate you for pitching in money in order to get the top recruits to Lincoln, but then you say the kids do it for us? No you buffoon, they do it for the money and for themselves. How freaking naive are you?

That why you’re a Gopher fan… Like in fair weather fan..
I'm a diehard fan. I'm for paying the coach $10M, building facilities, and even cheating in every way possible.

But I want the Gophers to be a college team. Even if it's largely an illusion. Once that's gone, I'm done.

I love watching football as much as anyone. But deep down we all know that it's downright foolishness. We should be in the gym ourselves. And I won't contribute a nickel to any Sleaze Program.

I'm laughing at the irony of a NIL donation appeal on the board for "the poors"

You're preaching to the folks who can't or are unwilling to even pony up $9.95 a month. The ultimate group of bandwagon fans.
$10 a month to read Sean C's lazy writing ("take the next step", "it'll be interesting...")? For news I can get for free from better sources? To be able to join more pointless arguments on the RSS? No thanks.

By the way, do you know what "bandwagon" means? Why would anyone be on Nebraska's bandwagon right now? Seems like the folks who have stuck around are going to be fans no matter what, even at rock bottom.

NIL is absolutely meaningless unless we have dudes out on the trail recruiting guys with some fervor and purpose.

Thankfully we have Bill Busch and Mickey Joseph on board now to create some energy and positive momentum in that direction.

Either way, Huskers have to start winning this fall. Brought in some highly wanted QBs and other supposedly meaningful players from the portal. This Fall is put up or shut up time. Nothing cures ills more than winning.

So many wise sages that have posts recorded in history to these pages predicting so many things. Would be happy to share their wise words with full credit if any of them are interested in seeing their prophetic words again.

In the area of recruiting, we saw:

“wait until we get rid of Riley’s recruits”

“Frost lands another top 20 recruiting class…championships are coming”

Let’s take one average B1G team we play - IOWA. Frost out recruited them by miles his first four years and not one player on the Iowa roster today knows what it’s like to lose to Nebraska.

We have already brought in better talent, but Iowa has better coaches, has better S&C, better development, better player management (even in the midst of a huge scandal that divided the team). Therefore, their 2-3 stars simply beat us time and time again.

Recruiting is paramount, but coupled with this rag tag, trial and error, learn on the job crew - it’s not going to change until we can get a competent leader at the top.

I don't know much about boosters, but I remember a john cook who complained a bit one time how the program was heading...that said, it's interesting that some teams have had boosters tell the coach this is your players..lol

so it's interesting if there will be cases of boosters watching NU football, then recruiting and say, well we need a left guard, then go sign a high ranked left guard to a nil deal and say to NU, here you go..

I know texas has some big wheel boosters who like to tell ut how to run some things, and a successful coach at ut has to juggle that kinda stuff.

It will be a very cold day in hell before I give some 18 y/o kid money to play football for my favorite team. I dislike this whole NIL deal for a variety of reasons, contributing to it with my own hard-earned cabbage seems like the biggest waste of money, ever. YMMV and more power to ya if anyone on this board decides to do it.

So it begs the question who exactly is it that is forcing you to contribute one cent to NIH?

Why should I pay $10 a month when there are several avenues for free info.

Did you go to college? And if so did you go to bed @ 8 pm? Not saying it’s the worst life but they do sacrifice. If you don’t think they do, you don’t appreciate them.
Yes and I played D1 basketball.

You guys are clueless. Rarely did we go to bed at 8pm or get up at 430 am

There are rules about how much you can workout.

And we were pampered beyond belief.

lol! you admit every chance you get that you don't watch football at its highest level, you braindead b*tch.

delete your account. nobody will ever gaf what you have to say.
Why would I watch a bunch of Commies play passing pinball in rigged games?

And what's so fun about watching Alabama vs Georgia? You're the braindead one if you enjoy that.

I like watching my home team play real football. I enjoy that as much as anyone. But there are other things in life too. I won't contribute to a Sleaze Fund.

Can’t wait for The Gophers to announce their NIL. Maybe they can time their annual pledge around Feb 2nd.

FWIW, in Michigan the big NIL news was that an incoming 5-star freshman Michigan football player signed a huge (though not detailed) NIL contract with a restaurant chain this past week. NIL is happening at all the schools with big fanbases.

How is giving a player $10 a month a bigger waste of money than paying to use this site for $10 a month?

He's not an idiot. He doesn't give this site $10 a month. He's also against giving a player $10 month. If you want to give your money to whatever, that's your business.
