Agreed. The 20 second pitch clock is a joke, too. Pitcher from Texas Tech last night threw the ball to 2nd base no less than 6 times in one inning just to reset the pitch clock. They used to make hitters keep one foot in the box in between most pitches. Guess that went out the window, as well.Honestly it is fantastic that one of these pitchers with their newfangled ridiculous routines just to go from the stretch to the set position gets burned.
It is actually okay to just bring the ball to your glove, set, and pitch!
Having to even get set seems like a stupid rule.Seriously though, this deal where the pitchers come to a “set” position, but keep moving their hands around back and forth is the dumbest mother fu)&ing thing I’ve ever seen.
It sure isn’t helping the pitchers keep their **** together…I know that.
At least someone is making a ton of $$ telling 16 year olds it’s cool.
The catcher rose up in plenty of time, and I have to think he was yelling to the mound. Sometimes these guys are just so entrenched in their Jonathon Papelbon-like badass routine that you can't get their attention. How in the heck did not a single Texas coach or infielder not see that in time to alert the pitcher? A lot of Horns had to be asleep at the same time for that to happen.

You're probably right in terms of getting the tag down and getting the out. But assuming the runner is pretty fast and had a good lead, he probably covered that distance in a little over 3 seconds. So the pitcher's not going to get a lot more verbal warning than that, which is why he can't doze off.Just watched 3 timed and counted...I stand by my 1.5 seconds. Not even close to enough time.
FIFY. And don’t be surprised if it’s retroactive.UT will have to get the Big 12 office to adopt a rule making that illegal...
Sorry … not sorry. Thanks but, I didn't really need your help.![]()
I don’t know. Base running is a pretty active part of the college game. Gotta do small ball well in order to win the CWS
