Other low-cost-low-tech solution is you can clip your key ring to a belt loop with a carabiner. I rarely keep my keys in my pocket, I don't like them scratching my leg when I walk and the fobs are titanic any more. I take a backpack to work and either clip them to the backpack or keep them in my coat pocket.Thanks. As I noted above, it seems to mostly happen when I put on a little weight and I have the fob in my pocket.
It has happened about 10 times in the 2 years and 10 months since I have had it. I mentioned it the service manager and he didn't have a fix.
I just wanted to know if anyone had the problem and what make of car. I have a new vehicle I am very interested in and a quick google search did not indicate the problem but a likewise search revealed a bunch of other people with my make of car do have the same problem. Many of them believe as I do the button on the fob is too sensitive. I reversed the cover on my fob so the buttons are blocked. It has happened only once since then in 3 or 4 months.
You're correct. I can't remember why I didn't want to mention the make/make. It was a 2018 Hyundai Sonata. It was great other than the trunk problem. I traded it in for a 2021 Kia Sportage. It is also great.OP,...Really kind of stupid to ask about a problem, then not want to mention the make/model...lol
I remember now. I didn't want to give Hyundai a bad reputation. You're correct. I can't remember why I didn't want to mention the make/make. It was a 2018 Hyundai Sonata. It was great other than the trunk problem. I traded it in for a 2021 Kia Sportage. It is also great.

Fellow regular guy here. Wasn't laughing about it being a certain brand of car, just the thought of a random post on a football message board hurting their reputation. To WHCSC:
I'm just a regular guy. I don't need anything but basic transportation. It was actually a great car except for the trunk problem.
Exactly.I have a 2017 Kia Forte that this happens to.
It's strictly a too sensitive trunk release button on the FOB.
