Other low-cost-low-tech solution is you can clip your key ring to a belt loop with a carabiner. I rarely keep my keys in my pocket, I don't like them scratching my leg when I walk and the fobs are titanic any more. I take a backpack to work and either clip them to the backpack or keep them in my coat pocket.
Goofy stuff like this is the reason I like some things to be low tech. The more sensors and actuators you load into the thing, the more parts you have to act up. Nothing is more charming than a bad seat belt sensor that scolds you all drive long to put on the seatbelt you're already wearing.
This could be due to moisture in the remote control from your machine. Try unscrewing it, but be careful. Clean all flaws and put the remote control back together. If you're a handyman like me, lol, get the guys that know about it. And if you know about it and this isn't the first time you've encountered this situation, check over here. Maybe it's time for you to open your auto shop and make huge amounts of money. I would be glad if my information were helpful.

You're correct. I can't remember why I didn't want to mention the make/make. It was a 2018 Hyundai Sonata. It was great other than the trunk problem. I traded it in for a 2021 Kia Sportage. It is also great.
Not a car but I have a Ram pickup and it is very sensitive. If I am going to be working, bending, lifting etc, I take it out of my pocket. My wife and I were loading up some rock the other day and I locked it twice with my fob and hung it on my belt loop, then all of a sudden it starts up and I asked her if she had her Ram keys in her pocket, sure enough. They are way to sensitive but try using gloves, no go.
If it were me, and might have been said, just unplug the crazy that connection the latch. I used to work on cars many moons ago and can't see why replacing the latch alone would do it, it's the electronic actuator that is causing the problem. There may be a cover over it you may have to take off but it should work without the electrical plugged in.

I'm just a regular guy. I don't need anything but basic transportation. It was actually a great car except for the trunk problem.
I have a 2017 Kia Forte that this happens to.
It's strictly a too sensitive trunk release button on the FOB.

Fellow regular guy here. Wasn't laughing about it being a certain brand of car, just the thought of a random post on a football message board hurting their reputation.
I've seen good and bad cars from every make.
