Baker issued his statement of gratitude to the Browns. He'll get one more shot to be a quarterback in the NFL.

if you are houston, wouldnt you at least want a serviceable qb in the trade deal with multiple 1st round picks? Baker is the best available or that scenario. Hes better than Darnold and Winston.

Watson is not going to the Browns IMO. Anything is possible in the weird NFL world though. $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Saints or Colts. I think he's a better dome QB. Don't think he would do real well outside in the weather in Cleveland.

If Wentz gets a 3rd chance, Baker will forsure get another chance. I'd take Baker over Wentz easy.

Wentz needs to parlay the back end of his career into a long-term veteran backup role AKA Chad Henne. Good work if you can get it. Easy work, good pay, still get to be one of the guys.

Chase Daniel is the greatest backup QB/ entrepreneur in history.

Done deal
5 year, $230M. Fully guaranteed. That’s $46M a year folks.

Am I the only one that thinks that is more than a little crazy? I’m a big fan of Watson but that’s Mahomes and Rodgers money for a dude with 1 playoff win and a 29-27 record.

You are a bigger fan of him than I....i don't think he's a good guy and he's barely above .500 as a QB...while better than Couisns, this situation reminds me a little of the Vikings moving on from one .500 QB in Keenum to sign another .500 QB at 4 times the price. Watson may be an uograde from Baker... but how much? But the other side is I don't think a big time QB is going to want to play for the Browns so they're going to have to massively overpay to get somebody like Watson

3 firsts and a truckload of money. Lol. The Ghost of Art Modell should backup the trucks tonight and take that franchise out of Cleveland again. What an absolutely ridiculous deal for an already embarrassing franchise. Makes my Cowboys look well run.

Yep Bengals finally figured things out. Browns still stuck in the dog pound

I hate all things Cleveland but Watson will win big there. His record might show him only a couple games over .500 but it's misleading given the management involved (and still there) in Houston.

The Texans (when I was still a fan of them before all this crap went down) were up 24-0 against the Chiefs, then proceeded to get outscored 51-7 the rest of the way. The Texans then started getting rid of all their good players when they turned GM duties over to a clown show management team. This was all before the sexual assault allegations even came up.

I bounced on the Texans after they gave away Hopkins for basically free after giving away Clowney the previous offseason for basically free. Then they compounded all that and promoted the same individuals (aside from crappy O'Brien) involved in a majority of their crap decision making. I saw where this was headed and said, see ya. Watson demanded a trade because management sucked. Once he was accused by 22 women of sexual assault, I said see ya for good to the Texans and especially Watson.

Browns had the 1st and 4th pick in the 2018 draft.

They took Baker Mayfield and Denzel Ward.

Could have had Josh Allen and 15 other dudes.

Cleveland will always Cleveland.

Baker is a good QB and Watson is good, but not a superbowl winning QB. The Browns had to make the move because they burned their bridges with Baker after he really did bring them out of the depths of despair and made them something. The winner of this trade will be whoever gets Baker. I'm really surprised Baker wasn't part of the trade to the Texans already. He'd be going home.

Baker wants indy. He'd be dumb to want the Texans.
