Why does every single player on Nebraska have a Riddell Speed Flex Helmet? I dont see any other college or pro team doing this. Most times the Riddell Speed Flex helmets are used by the QB and the Schutte F7 used by skill positions (WR & CB). Even Wand'ale chose to switch helmets after transferring. When will Nebraska adapt.... Seems we are 5 years behind every trend. If you want to build an appealing brand these things matter more than you think (talking to you boomers).

They should just play without helmets. There's no proof they work and in America people should have the right to choose. This is definitely a trend we don't want to be 5 years behind!

Honestly agree with this. Cant see any completive advantage to not wearing one. if a player is willing to take the risk of injury upon himself I don't see why the rules should bare him from doing so.

And honestly there is compelling research that shows helmets actually cause more head injury. Studies compare rugby and football. Theory is helmet protection incentivizes violent high speed head collisions versus body tackling in rugby. Look it up for yourself.

Most players aren't wearing their helmets properly anyway 🙄

Maybe. I wouldn't know. But nonetheless Nebraska looks like a Junior Varsity team aesthetically in terms of equipment
OK, I will bite, how many different ways are there to wear a helmet. I assume buttoning chin straps is the concern? Anyone remember when it was a penalty if they weren't snapped or am I imagining things?

Well I'll say this. Maybe times have changed but I doubt the science has.

IF you can wear a helmet while wearing earrings and can pull it off yourself with 1 hand without screaming, your helmet is probably too loose and not properly fit

Times have changed. When I play ball in the early 70's I wanted my helmet as tight as I could get it. Today, it isn't that way. They have been lifting helmets with one hand off their heads with one hand for years. Even in HS the coaches have to fit each player each year. In colleges, there is someone whose job it is just to make sure a helmet fits properly.

My first "real" helmet in junior high football, circa '86, literally had a rope with a knot inside that formed the "support system" that kept the shell off my noodle. Weird that I have trouble remembering names in my late 40's?
