Huffman seems like a douche

that said, it's extremely disappointing to hear that our staff, led by the localist of locals & never missing a chance to expound the importance of the 500-mile radius, has yet again been neglecting the lifeblood of Nebraska Football - Nebraska kids

Frost has been very odd recruiting Nebraska. He seems to like the small town kids but ignores the biggest metro in the state.

It's almost like he has arrogance that Nebraska kids should just feel so blessed and walk on at NU. Hopefully Mickey changes that narrative.

I don’t think he’s ignored it at all, all the metro kids we’ve lost, we recruited pretty heavily. But Rudd definitely hasn’t connected to the Omaha kids, a switch here is a good thing.

I coached with him years ago, he is not bad but yes he can be a little dooshy at times.

I agree, it's not being ignored like it was when Bo was here (Barney Cotton famously didn't even know where Millard North was even though they competed in something like 4 straight title games during his tenure & sent numerous kids to iowa and other schools on their way to the NFL)

I also don't think K Johnson would've played much, if at all, for us last year

still, we all remember the days when a walk-on offer to NU was held in higher esteem in this state than scholarship offers to surrounding D1 schools (isu, iowa, ku, ksu, ndsu, wyoming, etc.).

we're never going to get 100% of in-state kids, but it would be nice to have the first crack at them after glowing reviews from their coaches/other adults in their lives whose opinions they respect

Mickey is the right guy to recruit Omaha and lock down some very good talent that comes out of there.

If Joseph gets Betts to max his potential, he will build credibility with the Omaha people.

No, I really think he provides good input on all his discussion in threads. His talents are wasted on the free board. I'm assuming with your quick intellectual knowledge, you're going to be a great addition to RSS as well! Perhaps you guys can get a package deal?

Coach Joseph is perfect for the metro. Getting top skill players will be huge. Curious if West will be able to continue to get top gets from city. Johnsons and Duckers are done.

really hope we get the 9th grade DT from Omaha North. This kid is a beast.

Has anyone from Bell West really excelled at the FBS level lately? I can't think of any but I could be wrong.

It's pretty amazing to see how much of an upgrade there has been in recruiting with the new hires. Ruud and Dawson were considered decent recruiters on the original staff, now look below average comparatively.

Mickey's got instant credibility with any recruit he talks to - all he has to say is Chase and Jefferson. When you've developed the two best young wide receivers in the NFL, a lot more doors open. Those two came ready to play and excel in the NFL right away and Mickey did a great job helping coach those guys up.
