Edie Brickell was my fave at Peony. Attended with a girl named Tiffany, black leather mini skirt. She was my mom's secretary, haha. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Ever see an old picture from the water park (like there would be any other kind), I'll give you one thousand dollars for every black person you see in the photo....and my money will be 100% safe. Really weird looking back now at something that didn't register back then.

Sept. 21! I celebrated my 21st birthday that night.

If I remember correctly they played basically all the good songs off of Facelift too.. We were lucky to see that masterpiece of an album (DIRT) played live in thier prime.. 29 years ago wow!!

Saw them for the first time at Red Rocks. They put on a hell of a show for being much older at that time. Had tickets to see them at Grinders in KC but they cancelled the tour.

Pixies played Peony Park in 1990, Bossanova tour. They started with several slow tempo songs and Black Francis kept screaming for people to "slow dance!" Good times.

Yep!!! That was a great night, the start of a 2-3 day bender with a group of friends. I do remember the concert fairly well, not much after that. What I can’t remember was the other band that played. However, I do remember some guy who made his way up some big pole 🤷‍♂️

I also remember a giant beer stand. I went to a different person each time I went up for a beer & told them that it was my 21st birthday. I was getting free beer all night!

Worked there during high school, awesome time. Sprite night or whatever it was called. Some crazy stuff would go on during that spider ride when the lights went out.

Had lots of memories of Peony Park from family gatherings, the pool, the rides, bands playing there, a Christmas party, and of course including Sprite Night.. man that was the place to be.. I think that was back when cruising Dodge street was still allowed.. some 35 years ago.

Believe 311 opened for Fugazi or something at Peony Park VERY early in their careers. Best band to come out of Nebraska. Props to anyone at that show if I'm remembering correctly.

Went to Fugazi show, don’t remember 311 though. Saw another Nebraska band the Millions there for some New Years party thing.

I never caught a show at Peony. Seems like most of the good ones were early 90s when I was living in NM. I think Metallica and Dream Theater each played there around that time. I saw a ton of great Ranch Bowl shows before and after my time in NM.
