Sure, but surely you don't leave Mahomes out of this "get used to" category? Or did you leave him out because we're already use to him being there?

And to think that after week 9 Bengals fans were calling for his head after a 5-4 start, a 41-16 drubbing by their in-state rival Browns, and painful losing seasons with nominal wins the two years prior.

Mahomes, Josh Allen, Hebert, Burrow - some damn good QB’s in the AFC. Mahomes is the old guy, at 26.

Lamar Jackson will be looking up at those guys for a long time.

In all these posts on all these NFL threads....not even once has any player other than a quarterback been mentioned.

Nobody cares about running anymore. You don't see teams with a rushing attack like you do in the college game.

The 49ers care about running.

But yes QB play is more important. In an age where everyone has access to the same level of physical treatments and workout routines, no line is going to be physically dominant over another like a college recruited line can be.

That’s just the way it is, there’s no way around it. If you don’t like it you don’t have to watch.

And they continue to make the rules to encourage more passing. Running is obsolete. It's like watching a pinball game. It's not football to me.

Matt Stafford says hi. Same QB from Detroit, but with better surrounding cast. Its not JUST about the QB.


And I wouldn't call Ryan Tannehill an elite QB, but they had the #1 seed.

Well okay, the QB is ALMOST the only position that matters. The worst team in the history of pro sports, Detroit, needs more than a quarterback.

I really don't understand the need to not only admit you're not a football fan, but do it constantly. keep up the pathetic work, weird minnesota fan!

Running is not obsolete in the NFL. It's not your typical college rushing attack but then you don't have rosters littered with walk on players in the NFL either.

Too many people think all you need in a QB is having a great arm and being quick and fast but what really matters is what's going on between the ears and that's where Joe Burrow shines. We've had too many QB's lately at Nebraska that couldn't see the field and react quick enough to make plays. I'm going to go off topic a bit and say I hope Thompson and Purdy are finally those type QB's because if they are we will do quite well. jmo

I don't recall if it was Andy Reid, or someone from the KC front office who spoke of the "quarterback deficit" that they had prior to Mahomes. He meant that no matter how good their team was, they always had the like likes of Manning, Brady, and Roethlisberger in their way. Not any more.

Yeah, sometimes a team may have an elite defense or some other aspect that is enough to carry them to a Super Bowl with a pedestrian QB (see Joe Flacco and Trent Dilfer, to name the first two that came to mind); but having a franchise QB that can take over a game is your best bet.

But those guys don't grow on trees....
