Husker Hoops Central has a 4-page and counting thread on it ("Kobe Beef"). Sounds like things no bueno in the Hoiberg locker room.

Money quote paraphrased: How can the players hold each other accountable if the coaches won't?

Husker Hoops Central is an excellent place to discuss Husker hoops. Posters are passionate and knowledgeable. There are two that are outstanding.. Unlike the Scrolls where half don't care about basketball, and the other half are Hoiberg Cronies.

Where can I find the 4-pages of inputs?

Evidently, Kobe has to attend a workshop tomorrow called,"How to call out your team without getting the coaches in trouble." Obviously, Webster is unhappy, but Fred is holding him accountable.
On the flip side, Fred is meeting with the rest of the team this very minute. Regretfully because of the spread, they're meeting via Zoom. Most of the players are positive they have Covid. A source close to the program said the players agreed to meet only if they could turn off their video and audio. Fred gave in but said they could not be lying on their beds. Fred has not heard back from them. yet.

When has Nebraska basketball been that good? Never. Put a bad coach where no one has ever excelled. Doesn’t sound like a winning formula
They had some VERY good teams under Danny Nee. Nebraska high schools had a surplus of incredible talent. Nee did a great job getting most of those players.
*1990-91 26-8 (reached #7 in the rankings)
*1991-92 19-10
*1992-93 20-11
*1993-94 20-10 (Big 8 tourney champs)
*1994-95 18-14
1995-96 21-14 (NIT Champs)
1996-97 18-15 (NIT - 3 wins)
*1997-98 20-12

* NCAA Tournament berth

They had a nice 4 year run (1990-1994) of home wins against some really good Kansas teams.

I know the records aren’t jaw-dropping, but Nebraska had some great teams that could be just about anybody on any day, especially at home. They had a home record of 77-19 during that span. They were 55-8 at home from 1990-1994. Danny Nee was a fan favorite for sure.

Barry collier won 19 games in 05/06
Doc won 20 games in 07/08
Tim won games

my baseline is Expectation for any nebrasketball coach is Barry Collier. Barry Collier coaches circles around Dred Hoiberg

When a team looses as much as they do it’s natural to start looking for excuses. It’s usually not you.

And the evidence to support his statement is displayed on the court pretty much every game. Right now, evidence is strong that Fred Hoiberg doesn't want to recruit and he doesn't want to deal with discipline issues. So an assistant is bringing in the best talent he can find without regard to how the pieces fit. And as far as team building goes, it starts at the top. Assistant coaches and players cannot hold anyone accountable if their efforts are undermined by the head coach.

I'm glad Webster spoke out. He was spot on. There were good reasons why some of these guys weren't playing much in their previous programs. Another guy, Verge, had a reputation as a major headcase before he stepped foot in Lincoln and we know how that has gone.

RollingLaugh funniest stuff to read are thoughts that this might "fracture" the team. There is nothing to fracture these guys haven't won a damn thing! They have zero conference wins and last time I checked you can't have negative wins.

And don't fire Hoiberg...make him sit through the remainder of his contract and let him lose every single game if you have to. Make HIM quit. Nebrasketball has never been a historical winner anyway just let him be the absolute floor with every losing record attached to his name and see how long he can stomach it.

The "bad coach" is what I was not following. Sure he looks bad now, but was widely regarded as a fantastic coach prior to the hire. I don't think Coach K could win at Nebraska.

Hoiberg's ISU teams had great offenses and were a lot of fun to watch....so why is his offense so inept here? I don't get it. I know he had more talent at ISU, but still, I don't remember his teams there playing 1-on-1 hero ball. They actually ran an offense with a lot of ball movement to get open shots.

Fred brought his NBA bullsheet with him here. We just forgot to tell other teams to stop playing college ball

His assistants are the key.

What is your time frame for "now"? This year, last year, the year before that, Chicago Bulls. Just curious.

Great, another fan of revisionist history. Let's not pretend that the prevailing theory wasn't that he was fantastic at Iowa State and that he belonged in the college game. My post was in response to the guy saying he was a bad coach paired with a bad program. Did Nebraska know he was a bad coach when they hired him, or was that just you and one other guy? Feel free to throw up a link to your posts saying he was a bad coach at the time we hired him.

Like here's a 10-minute video of great offensive sets Hoiberg ran at Iowa State...can somebody send him this video to remind him?

There is no "team". There are guys who don't like each other who happen to wear the same uniform while they move on with their own personal agendas.

Compare and contrast the spacing and ball movement we have now to that. I don't see a point guard pounding the air out of the ball before launching a bad shot in any of those plays.
