Actually, a funny MEATLOAF story… before he became famous, BRIEFLY he was a student at Lubbock Christian College and my dad was a professor there… and mr. Loaf took my dads class!!!!
Haven’t found a meatloaf Ive loved since my mother passed away many moons ago. But I’m still on the hunt.
I make pretty good meatloaf. Yes, I mix in tomato sauce. I use both ground beef and pork. I free form it on a baking sheet. When it is done I drain all the liquids that have been released on the baking sheet to a pan to make gravy. Potatoes mashed with lots of butter and heavy cream. Nothing better.

I'm torn on this one because I love traditional meat loaf with tomato sauce....However I worked at a restaurant that served "stout loaf" (Lazlo's in Lincoln), meat loaf made covered in a stout beer gravy. It was really good, could compete with any regular meat loaf!

Me too! I keep telling my wife, stop putting weird stuff in the meatloaf. I wish I had a book of recipes "the way Mom made it."
