Seeing quite a few mentions this afternoon, most quoting a Bruce Feldman article from The Athletic. Also mentioning the Raiders as the primary interest.

Hope he goes to the Raiders, would help increase the excitement around the team after Gruden resigned. Gorgeous stadium and good ownership (bad haircut and all).

Wouldn't surprise me. He has to realize he just hit his pinnacle at Mich. Might as well leave on a high note.

That would be a good fit. Having been a Raiders fan since they started the AFL, this might be a good match. Hopefully they are over the drama and can get on with winning some games and get back to the rivalry with the Chiefs.

Dang did you have to be a closet raider fan when you lived in NW KS?? I loved watching raiders on Monday night football back in the 70s and early 80's. Otis sistrum (sp) etc. Their fans had the best costumes followed by redskins hogs.

Agree. He finally got Michigan near the top. He's basically maxed out in the college game. Much more equitable in the NFL. Raiders actually have a pretty young and talented team. They are close to taking the next step.

John has a Super Bowl title. Jimmy has none.

Can’t think of a better fit for that goofy dude. Raider Nation would embrace him.

More importantly, who would replace him at meat chicken?

IF they're smart, they should at least consider leaving their staff as is. Their acting head coach has guided them through some turbulence and the players love him. It would be fun to see an old Wayne State/Yankton College guy continue on as an NFL head coach. I can't think of another coach who could do what he did this year given the situation he was thrown in to.

If you are Jim, this is smart...you either get a HUGE raise from UM...or you go to the Raiders...for a 5 year deal at like 8 million a year and then you retire.

I've had some time to process this and the more I think about it the more I like it. As a Chief's fan I'd be immediately concerned about the Raider game again.. What is the Raiders salary and overall contracts with their better players? Are they young and cheap or on the last lap and eating up to much $$?? Do they have much for draft picks next few uears?

I was a total rebel, Raiders when most out west were Bronco fans, Boston Red Sox when they were split between the Rockies and Royals and of course Husker FB. Yea, I wasn't exactly a Homer out there.

According to NFL network they will for sure have to decide on Derrick Carr.
