Their only problem is their location in an urban war zone..... I've driven through their campus. Lots of bars on windows right next to campus. In fact Rice University not far from there has the windows in many of their buildings nailed shut.
Auburn will fire its coach in 2-3 years and cite SEC. Some other SEC assistant from UGA will take over.
Not true at all my friend- My son goes to Rice U and it’s a gorgeous campus and buildings (never seen so many 100 year old oak trees on 300 acre campus-and neighborhood surrounding is multi-million dollar homes (best equivalent is highland park Dallas).Btw I saw them play a game this year, Luke Mc. barely played.
Houston is the #1 city of origin for NFL talent. Imagine if they started keeping all that talent home.
same with miami.....them 2 cities could do very well if they can lock down the areas recruits...
and that's why houston needs to thrive, and join the big..so NU can beat them at home...
maybe tcu or smu too...
I think houston is #1 recruiting area in texas
dallas is #2
they built the cws next to the ghetto, and nobody seems to have a problem going there, or creighton.
maybe houston is in the middle of the ghetto? I have no problem driving down 40th & saylor (lead the news with most shootings) or 16th and ames (lead the news in liquor store shootings) during the day...
I toured Rice. Granted it's been 20 years ago. I agree the campus is pretty. When in the admissions office with my son a bird had flown in the front reception area. I tried to open a window to let it out. It was nailed shut. The dorm they showed us was a cramped dump. Obviously things could have changed for the better since then but at that time when you drove a few blocks from campus, the neighborhood got pretty rough quickly. Near Houston U, there were people during the middle of the day sleeping on porches in the yard and homes with steel bars on the windows.
At that time there were parts of the campus that were brand new. The Bushes had given a large chunk of money for buildings for I think Political Science and the performing arts. That doesn't change the fact that the U of Houston is in or near an extremely high crime area which got worse after Katrina.

Is the reasoning so complicated that it takes an hour long video to explain or something?
I would think that if there is some reason that they would join the big 10 that the general idea could be summed up in a couple sentences...not looking for a friggin doctoral thesis or anything man...
They struggled late in the year, but got up for Alabama. Played their best ball and blew it. In that situation, a team is going to lose their bowl game unless their opponent plays even worse.
While I doubt that you're serious, I would love to be fly on the wall when the bow ties who run the Big Ten are asked to extend an invitation to Houston -- which in the not-so-distant past was known as Cougar High.
Half of them still have to breathe into a brown paper bag when they hear the word Nebraska.
I go with this. Was at both campuses a few years ago, didn't see anything other than this. Houston Campus seemed away from most other development from memory, with a large campus. Rice was nice too, but sorry, very pretentious.
Holgerson is an idiot. Houston had the ball with three seconds left in regulation against Tulane in Houston's territory and he elected to take a knee instead of throwing a Hail Mary pass. The Houston fans booed him for that decision. Then Houston won the coin flip in overtime, and he chose to go on offense first, which I've never seen before. Tulane held Houston to a field goal and then Tulane scored a touchdown in its possession. Houston is now 2-3.

The dorm rooms we saw were disgusting (kind of like Harvard’s). That’s been 20 years ago though. My son has worked in Houston for almost 20 years. Ummm yeah I’ve been there

Just ask Utah or TCU what their records looked like the first two or three years after moving up into Power 5 conferences.
No ****...hell ND tries to pretend that they in a suburb of Chicago just so that they can ignore South Bend.
they are my favorite soon to be big 12 team...because they are kinda a underdog.
they seem a bit ghetto and in their feelings with the fighting and such...but they are not horns...
repeat, they are not horns....
the main take away is some how, some way...our texas rb coach needs to nil the hell outta houston, because they are #2 recruiting area in the nation, behind miami...
