Seems like the arrows are pointing to us landing Okie St transfer Hunter Anthony. A 5.5* out of HS, started some games for OkSt, was injured most of 2020, then seems like backup role this year, but played in most or all games.
Will announce after their bowl game.

Nice, seems like we’ve now added a couple guys that can compete for immediate PT. Would still like to see us add a plug and play center.

Not the most flattering profile pic.

We are seriously going to complain about potentially getting a commit from an OL with starting experience at Oklahoma State? Wow.

From what I can tell, this kid has never won the starting job. He's filled in here and there. Not much to get excited about.

Are the coaches telling him that they see him as our next right tackle?

He started the last 4 games his Freshman year and was the opening game starter his Sophomore year. He was hurt in that game and then came back for the last game. He wasn’t a starter this year, but has played in every game. To me this would be a very solid addition. I think he has more experience at RG than RT, so my guess is they see him taking Schitterman’s spot, but could also be an option at RT.

If they sign this kid, and he comes in and starts, it would make me wonder about Rivals rating system for sure.

We've signed lots of higher rated kids, and I think we agree that they've gotten subpar coaching for at least 4 years now, but was Rivals just wrong on all the higher rated kids Nebraska signed over the last few years? Or maybe there were more injuries we didn't know about. Just seems odd to me.

OL are the hardest to project and take the longest to develop. Some of these kids have to add a lot of weight and you never really know what that will do to their athleticism. OL can really be a numbers games. That’s why we have seen so many walk-ons make an impact there.

What are the odds that Rivals misses on so many Nebraska players?

cam jurgens says, ‘hi’ and ‘good bye’.
(My intent here was - this place hasn’t been the best long term predictor of talent much less based on looks; no ref to cam’s looks or pics).

Reminds me of when Richie was labeled a bully at Miami. He’s an offensive lineman, isn’t it his job to be a bully.
Didn’t say anything about him looking like a bully in his profile. Where did you get that?

He didn’t start for most of this past year…so IMO…the more bully the better.

You mean like MattFarniok? For some reason the Cowboys like him.
And he started for us, and as we saw this year he was leaps and bounds better than what we had on the field this year. Fans ***** about all starters when we lose He played decent ball for us.

We've talked round and round about ratings on these boards for 20 years. Too many variables factor in. But the bottom line is that a small percentage of these kids are elite prospects who will succeed regardless of where they go. The rest of the kids are going to need at least some things to go their way-- like great coaching, staying healthy, getting early playing time.

As for Frost's O-line, with the latest four star recruits, we got a lot taller and "looked the part" as some like to say, but then there were issues with kids playing too high, lunging into blocks, and a myriad of other issues.
