Saw a post that among 66 Power Five teams only two have not made a bowl game in the last five years. Nebraska and Kansas. 🤦‍♂️

Kansas has a basketball team

We have the worst combined major sports in all of power 5 athletics and it isn’t close

The baseball team is literally the only thing keeping us from being a complete laughing stock at this point.

I actually didn't realize we were the ONLY other school other than KU (which is my other team). Sorry to have taken up your time.
To be fair I believe Rutgers just back door themselves into a bowl game with 5 wins due to a Covid drop out. I’m kinda surprised Vanderbilt isn’t on this list either. Also, if our players would have taken a bowl invite last year, instead of being a bunch of sissys, this conversation wouldn’t even be happening.

This was in a Dirk Chatelain piece last week. The fact that we TURNED DOWN a pity bowl last year is so pathetic it makes me crazy. I agree that since Kansas has an awesome basketball program, Nebraska is clearly the worst P5 athletic department in the country.

No hyperbole. THE WORST.

I make no secret of the fact that I love baseball, and I’m super excited for Bolt’s boys this spring. But unfortunately it just doesn’t move the meter when you’re as bad as we are at football and basketball.

It's time for Nebraska and Kansas to renew the football rivalry! ;)
I honestly believe that KU has the better coach right now. Not sure whether Leipold can get it done there (it's a tall hill to climb), but the guy knows how to coach and get the most out of his players.

We’re closer to making a bowl than Kansas … I think.
Not so sure, the Big XII is getting worse as a whole and KU has a solid coach. I'd be surprised if they don't make it to 6 wins once in the next 2 years. DONU plays in a tougher BIG and we don't know how the new staff will mesh or if they'll be any good together. Nor has NU found a qb that is elite.

It seems that many people get caught up in the hiring of Frost first, recruiting stars then followed as the headliner and then it was the curse of "we are close". Eventually people look back and see that we haven't won a darn thing, no big upsets, no winning seasons, no bowl games and then they are suddenly surprised when presented the facts.

I would lay money that Leipold averages 7 to 8 wins within a couple of years which would be fantastic by KU standards. They should never hope for or expect more. He's way better than Frost.

Outside the Big 10 nobody gives two ****’s about Rassling..
That's not true. Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Oklahoma, and Arizona State, for example, are traditional national powers with large fan bases.

you're probably right, but that's because most b10 teams play in high school ball parks. nebraska fans follow their 20th ranked baseball team much more than Iowa fans follow their #1 wrestling.
Iowa fans love wrestling. I believe more than Nebraska fans follow baseball.

Only one team in the SEC have rassling.. Missouri is the only SEC team who isn’t a original member and the Big 12 only has 4 teams that have rassling in the PAC 12 only Oregon St besides Arizona St so that is 2 out of 12 schools…And only half of the ACC have the sport..

Don’t give me how popular it is outside the Big 10..

There are definitely some fans, but rarely is anyone talking about wrestling in central Iowa. They will on the day they win the national title and that's about it. Social media presence for NE Baseball is 102,000 followers compared to 74,000 for Iowa Wrestling.

Iowa fans in Des Moines don't love wrestling. They enjoy the idea of it being the only men's sport that has won anything.
