Was Freshamn of the year in the MAC. I know he’s from Omaha, but honestly I’m not sure I see the appeal here, but others that have watched him more may have more insight.

Looked great in their bowl game for yet another school that’s pulled off a miraculous turnaround in an extremely short period of time (pretty sure NIU was winless last year, MAC champs this year)

Maybe he can help with our loser locker room mindset and actually show our guys (starting with Frost) how to win

I’d be all over him, and wouldn’t be surprised if he had a serious chip on his shoulder toward NU/Frost for ignoring him in HS.

It sounds like Ducker’s dad HATES Nebraska.
I don't blame him

Ducker would've probably been 2nd on the team this year in RB carries behind RJ, yet Frost snubbed him while actively pursuing his teammates

watching this team throughout the whole of Ducker's high school career, his dad probably (correctly) thought his kid could go down to Lincoln and compete for a starting job immediately

had an offer and took a visit to purdue, a team that owns Frost, yet still not good enough

I'd be real pissed, too

I believe he has hated Nebraska long before his son failed to earn an offer. Let’s also remember, no one offered him not, Iowa, ISU or anyone else, so he wasn’t snubbed by Nebraska more than he was by every single P5 team in America.

This is also a kid that started the year on the scout team at NIU was forced into action because of injuries. He was force fed a ton of carries and had a nice year, but I’m skeptical he would have much of an impact here.

had an offer from Purdue, according to his Rivals page

and, sorry, but an in-state snub is worse than, say Boston College not knocking down his door

pretty clear miss on a guy right up the road who absolutely could've helped us

According to TOS, Purdue took a RB commit right after they offered him, so he had an offer for about 5 min. I just am not sure so see him as a miss. He was able to play this year at NIU, due to injuries, but does that make him a viable B1G RB? Should we have taken him instead of Ervin?

I don't think for a second the kid is coming to Lincoln. It is interesting looking at Duck and his family since the kid went to NIU. Duck looks the same. His tight end kid looks a lot different and is wearing his brothers colors in the latter pic even though he is about to head to Auburn. It will be interesting to see where the RB son ends up.

I guess I would wonder why a kid who, by any measure, had an outstanding first season at his chosen school....would bail on said school the minute he had any success....

Please, if he had been offered, you and half this board would've complained about it.

He chose NIU over Purdue?

He’s an in state kid so a vocal minority on this board will not want him for that reason alone. It’s the mantra of football and mens basketball.

vocal...? i think i saw a few negative comments about sallis or hepburn and dont remember negativity about ducker. not saying it wasnt out there, but i do recall more commentary that the coaching staffs have been insolent towards the local kids.

I don't remember a single poster on this board wishing we would offer Ducker out of high school. Not one.

He was HS teammates with K. Johnson...and Goodson left for the draft. I wouldn't doubt if he ends up at Iowa

That's nice, but that wasn't what I posted about. A freshman of the year from a MAC team, rushed for 1,200 yards. Change his name and say he's from Florida and he would be more popular on this board.

I'm sure they would take him as a walk on.

i don't remember anyone wishing we 'wouldnt', either. not saying it wasnt out there, just don't recall...
Normally if a kid from Omaha or Lincoln has enough talent to be a preferred walk on, somebody on this board is pushing for a scholarship for him. I don't remember a single person even bringing him up or caring whether or not he walked on.

I believe his dad is a big Hawk fan, but not sure this kid is a B1G caliber back.

Leaving NIU now seems odd, here he says it is because he doesn’t trust the coaches. Makes me wonder if he wants a giant we he won’t lose his spot to one of the backs that started the year ahead of him, once they get healthy.
